Dugu Xiu arrived at Swift Wind Pavilion with thirty-eight Supernatural Affairs Department students. He immediately stood out for his arrogance, vivid red hair, and confidence in his innate fire abilities. 25 27

He challenged Zhou Zhe on the condition that the loser would follow the winner. Zhou Zhe defeated him with a single punch to the upper abdomen, but Dugu Xiu refused to abandon his pride entirely; he acknowledged Zhou as a worthy opponent before declaring that he would follow him until surpassing him. 27 28

Among the new students, Dugu Xiu possessed the highest recorded aptitude: S-rank Strength, Agility, Stamina, Spirit, and Fire Element Affinity.
