Background / History

Zhang Miaoran came from a wealthy family and was known as an academically gifted, athletic, elegant, and exceptionally beautiful young woman. Seven years before the Cosmic Arena crisis, Zhou Zhe defended her when she was bullied by three neighborhood children; she never forgot his kindness. 2

When Zhou Zhe was selected for a life-or-death Cosmic Arena duel, Zhang gave him her family's valuable Swift Wind Pavilion monthly membership card. She considered Zhou part of her family and urged him to survive. 2

After Zhou became Pavilion Master, Zhang asked to become his disciple. Her GXI3 test labeled her aptitude merely above average, leaving her discouraged, but Chang Hanshan encouraged her to continue.
