Background / History

Tsunade left Konoha after becoming disillusioned with its corrupt leadership and devastated by the deaths of her family and Dan. As the last known Senju survivor, she felt that her clan had already sacrificed too much for the village and initially refused to return or become Hokage. After Hiruzen Sarutobi's abdication, Jiraiya, Naruto Uzumaki, and Uchiha Senya sought her out as Konoha's preferred Fifth Hokage candidate.
