Background / History

Nine years before her introduction, the Silver Dragon King split into two human forms: Gu Yue retained seventy percent, while Na'er retained thirty percent. As the larger portion, Gu Yue is strictly Na'er's elder sister. The sisters separated three years before Chapter 12: Na'er lived among humans to understand human emotion, while Gu Yue traveled the continent to investigate a path forward for soul beasts. 12

Gu Yue concluded that technological advances—particularly mechas and Battle Armor—had made humanity too powerful for soul beasts to confront directly. She therefore sought to gain control of a human force, favoring the Spirit Transmission Pagoda because of its origins and its corruption. Her original intention was to reunite with Na'er before joining the organization. 12

When Na'er refused to easily leave Tang Luochuan, Gu Yue became curious about the human boy's influence over her sister. Learning he was headed to East Sea City, she followed him with Bear King to assess him personally. 12

At East Sea Academy, Gu Yue entered Class 1 as a Rank 28 Soul Grand Master and chose to sit beside Tang Luochuan. After asking him to display his Martial Soul, she confirmed that he possessed the Golden Dragon King's aura. She then openly revealed that her apparent Elementalist Martial Soul was in fact the Silver Dragon King. 20 21 22

Appearance

Gu Yue initially appears as a girl around Tang Luochuan and Na'er's age. Though described as not exceptionally beautiful at first glance, she possesses a distinctive aura and calm eyes. 12

Around Tang Luochuan, she becomes increasingly direct, affectionate, and protective. She takes the initiative to investigate his Martial Soul, invite him to her home, arrange outings, and declare him “her person” when Nanye tries to recruit him. 21 23 35 54
