This really was... spine-chilling.
Roy had actually suspected long ago that there might be more than one Void Lord. After all, the Void was so vast and boundless—how could there possibly be only one Void Lord in that endless Void realm? But Roy had no evidence for this conjecture. It could neither be proven nor disproven.
Until he glimpsed Y'Shaarj's shattered memories...
Among Y'Shaarj's memory fragments, one in particular had remained exceptionally clear.
It was a scene of countless Old God Juvenile Forms identical to Y'Shaarj entering the material world from the Void realm. Y'Shaarj had naturally been among them. This memory fragment was filled with Y'Shaarj's joy and fervor—joy at being born, fervor for its mission.
Perhaps because the impression had been so profound, this memory fragment had remained vividly preserved even after Y'Shaarj's death. And it was this fragment that confirmed Roy's speculation.
Old Gods were pioneers and pathfinders dispatched by Void Lords into the material world, meant to seek out planets that possessed world-souls. But since the Void Lords did not know which planets had given birth to world-souls, these deployments were random. And the material universe was so immense, with its planets numbered in the trillions, that the Old Gods had to be deployed in batches.
In other words, these so-called pioneers and pathfinders were nothing more than cheaply mass-produced industrial products! Void Lords had to expend energy to create Old Gods as well. To reduce the cost of mass-producing them as much as possible, using the same template for Old Gods was inevitable!
That was why Y'Shaarj's memory fragment contained so many identical siblings. It proved that they had been produced by the same Void Lord.
Yet five Old Gods had appeared on Azeroth, and each of those five looked completely different. Xal'atath had died
