When Roy passed through the portal, he was flying, so after emerging, he remained suspended in midair. Not far ahead of him stood a colossal city, its architecture in the standard Night Elf style yet far more luxurious. Behind him, not far away, lay the familiar waters of the Well of Eternity. The radiant lake and the beautiful city formed an incomparably breathtaking scene.
More accurately, this place could not really be called a city. It was a palace—but the palace was so enormous and magnificent that it occupied an area comparable to that of a city.
This palace on the shore of the Well of Eternity was called Azshara's Glory, which in Elven meant "Azshara's Glory." It had been built by Queen Azshara to display her wealth, strength, beauty, and authority. It could be said to embody extravagance in its utmost form.
Unfortunately, the surging Demon Army of the Burning Legion pouring from the portal ruined that beautiful sight. Having long since lost their patience from waiting, the demons were all brimming with murderous intent, their bodies exuding savage auras, their minds filled with the desire to slaughter and destroy.
On a palace platform near the portal stood Archimonde, who had entered ahead of them, along with his two adjutants. Facing them was a group of long-eared elves dressed in magnificent attire. There were both men and women among them, but at the very front stood an exceptionally beautiful female Night Elf. Her garments were the most extravagant, and she stood like a proud peacock. Half a step behind her, closely following her, was a male Night Elf whose attire suggested that his status was far from ordinary as well.
