Evenson expanded Umbrella’s influence while handling Hydra recruits, a suspected mind controller, and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s investigation into Gravitonium. The arc left Evenson apparently betraying Skye to Ian Quinn before vanishing from Quinn’s villa.

• Evenson learned that Cthulhu was the Primordial of Life and abandoned plans to dredge for Deep Ones after Saloras and Aurelles warned him of the risks and cost.
• The Eredar Twins revealed their deal with Fisk and assigned him to promote Umbrella’s medicines and prosthetics in Hell’s Kitchen, while they took in Angelica Cassel after the Park Massacre.
• Evenson ordered Moira to investigate the suspected mind controller behind Hope’s actions, and Moira identified Kilgrave while reporting Jessica Jones’s involvement.
• Evenson accepted five hundred Hydra recruits from Stephanie Malick, and Peggy Carter disguised as Katerina began training and assessing them.
• Evenson investigated the gravity-altering attack on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s convoy, helped trace its gold to Ian Quinn, and joined the effort to reach Quinn’s island and rescue Dr. Hall.
• Evenson and Skye entered Quinn’s shareholder meeting using invitations arranged through Gideon Malick, while Coulson and Ward prepared to support them.
• Evenson posed as Leon Scott Kennedy, met Quinn privately, and activated Fitz’s signal relay as Quinn boasted about Gravitonium and his plans.

Evenson contained the Gravitonium, while Moira’s division hunted Kilgrave and tested Soldier 76. The arc ended with Kaecilius’s followers attacking the Sanctum Library, where Klayya was hiding.

• Hall fatally wounded himself while firing at Evenson, who removed the Gravitonium and stopped the facility’s gravity crisis.
• Evenson stored the Gravitonium at The Fridge, then learned from the Eredar Twins that his hidden supply came from planetary cores and could endanger Earth.
• Moira questioned Jessica Jones about Kilgrave and persuaded Samantha to withdraw Hope’s charges by invoking the Park Massacre investigation.
• Jessica and Luke Cage lured Kilgrave to a church, where Soldier 76 resisted his mind control and Moira tested him before he shot Kilgrave dead.

After Klayya’s brush with the void, Evenson learned more about the cosmic threat and began turning captured Hydra recruits into demon-enhanced fighters. Klayya challenged his ruthless methods, but Evenson and Peggy Carter argued that survival required hard choices as they prepared for the coming war.

• Klayya used a mysterious power to kill Chen, and Ancient One saved her before pursuing Kaecilius, who escaped with several followers.
• Evenson learned that Klayya had sought power to help him, while Ancient One revealed her connection to the Dimension Walker and arranged for him to teach Klayya.
• Evenson warned Klayya about the dangers of the void, then explained that Ancient One planned for her to become a hidden protector while Stephen Strange served as Kamar-Taj’s public successor.
• The Eredar Twins and Usaless explained the Void Lords, Voidlings, the Dimension Walkers, and the Burning Crusade, while Zahaiyd confirmed much of the account and revealed Ancient One’s past as King Arthur and Morgan.
• Evenson brought Peggy Carter, Kreia, and the Eredar Twins to a hidden room, where they used a deadly ritual to turn Hydra recruits into demon-enhanced fighters.
• Klayya condemned Evenson for treating people like materials, and her void power briefly transformed her before she regained control.
• Peggy Carter argued that war forced people to prioritize survival, and Evenson told Klayya they might have to become monsters to win or escape the coming war.

Evenson weakened Hailmondas’s forces while arranging Vanessa Fisk’s cure and securing Fisk’s allegiance. In Hong Kong, Li Lin became Evenson’s apprentice, killed Chen Haoran, and Evenson confronted Coulson over Skye’s role in the mission.

• Klayya committed to standing by Evenson through the war, and Evenson revealed his plan to seize Fel Scar Rift by undermining Hailmondas’s forces and training modified Hydra soldiers against summoned demons.
• Agatha poisoned Vanessa Fisk, and Evenson saved her in exchange for Fisk’s assets and a contract, then advised Fisk on building political influence in Hell’s Kitchen.
• Evenson traveled to Hong Kong with Kreia, where he encountered Li Lin, a powerful martial artist and underworld figure who planned to leave gang life and master Wu Er Da.

• Evenson sent Li Lin to fight Chen, and she overwhelmed him with her spear before killing him at Evenson’s signal, drawing Coulson’s objection.
