Before Ye Fan disappeared at Mount Tai, Xu Qiong and Ye Fan had known each other for two years and had grown from friends to being on the verge of becoming lovers. In the future Lu Zhou had seen, she waited for Ye Fan, then cared for his elderly parents for seven years as though they were her own; this deeply influenced Lu Zhou’s desire to change her fate. 266 348

When Lu Zhou returned to Earth, Xu Qiong was preparing to marry Xu Liang. Though initially composed about the wedding preparations, she learned that her fiancé’s intentions were selfish and broke away from the marriage after the ceremony was disrupted. 268 269 271
