The bespectacled, rather refined-looking man lowered his head and stared at the fully armed young man before him. He asked coldly, "Did he dry his hair too? Maybe style it?"
"Not exactly. When we arrived, his hair was still wet," the young man said quietly. "Commander, you know his hair isn't that long. It doesn't really need drying after washing."
"Should I praise you for being so observant?" Hearing the young man's answer, Glasses Man took a deep breath. His voice lowered slightly, like the growl of a beast. "Are you all useless? He destroyed the drones. He was already inside his apartment, and you still gave him that much time?"
"Commander," the young man said hesitantly, his body tensing slightly as he looked at the furious Glasses Man. "Those Federal Bureau of Investigation agents obstructed us and slowed us down. And the mist mixed with Blood of the Goddess that we planned to release from the drones should theoretically have worked on Pa Xiu. But he absorbed the mist without passing out, which caused the entire plan to spiral out of control."
"You were already downstairs from the apartment building. A local Federal Bureau of Investigation office, with a Director who is only a Rank D Transcendent—how could they hold you up for so long?" Glasses Man took another deep breath. "Don't tell me you climbed the stairs."
"Yes, Commander," the young man said quietly after glancing at Glasses Man. "That apartment building was too old. The elevator was broken, so we had no choice but to climb the stairs."
