Scattered raindrops slid rapidly down the old neon signs, dripping onto the entrance of the brightly lit convenience store.
Directly across from the shimmering convenience store, light spilled from the old building, illuminating its bright entrance and most of its floors, making the whole structure burn like a blazing torch.
At the very top of the torch-like building, the enormous illuminated sign reading "Lin Sen Te Pharmaceutical," together with the signs on other high-rises within the Rain Curtain, formed part of this glittering steel rainforest.
"Here are your things." Standing behind the old counter, the clerk handed the bag in their hand to the woman before them.
"Thank you." The woman took the bag and pulled out a Duckbill Cap, using it to cover her fluffy, eye-catching brownish-gold hair and tuck the loose strands into her oversized new waterproof leather jacket.
Several people in the convenience store heard the sound and glanced over. The long brim of her Duckbill Cap concealed part of her face, leaving only the outline of her profile visible.
Yet because of that, her somewhat gallant profile gained a touch of softness beneath the cap's cover, making her look rather delicate and captivating.
The people looking over included both men and women, but all of them were "drawn" to that profile at the first glance.
The woman, now wearing the Duckbill Cap, seemed not to notice their stares. She raised her head, looked at the Rain Curtain outside, then checked the information on her bracelet before turning toward the door.
The gazes resting on her swiftly withdrew.
However, after leaving the convenience store, the woman did not depart immediately. Instead, she stood at the entrance, took a cherry-flavored lollipop from the bag, unwrapped it, and placed it in her mouth.
Then she leaned back against the
