Farouk
The two witchers guarding the area exchanged glances, then checked the documents the man handed over before stepping aside.
Robin was taken aback when he saw this. He had thought that the wizard had come to Kaer Morhen just to take him away.
The wizard was being watched over by a witcher, and he didn't realize what was happening until he had walked quite a distance.
"Ailin, I'll be going now."
He hurriedly tried to catch up, but then seemed to remember something, walked back, whispered something in Ailin's ear, and then left in a hurry.
"I've left a gift that you'll definitely like; it's in the library."
Gift?
The library is so big, where do we find it?
Ailin scratched his head and walked toward the library, puzzled.
Walking on the road leading to the main castle, the Witcher apprentice suddenly remembered a detail from earlier.
The two witchers guarding the gate seemed unaware that a messenger from the king would be coming today.
But Kaer Morhen is a place where communication is possible; at least Robin received a letter from Ben Ade College a few days ago.
Did the chief not receive the letter, or did he receive it but deliberately ignore it?
Wrong!
The fact that the messenger did not react to the cold reception he received suggests that he already knew this.
"They've come with ill intentions!"
The Witcher apprentice gazed into the distance at the majestic, grey-white main castle, his expression turning somewhat solemn as if he were pondering something.
The top floor of the main castle.
The reception room of the Chief of the School of the Wolf.
"Grandmaster Soyer, I am Farouk Ismail, and I extend my greetings on behalf of Ban Ade Academy."
Farouk placed his right hand on his chest in a gesture of respect.
The witcher watched coldly as the wizard completed his bow, and said:
"I did not receive a letter from the King, yet you say you represent Ban Ade."
"So what exactly are you male wizards trying to do?"
The oppressive gaze of the School of the Wolf Grandmaster made the wizard nervous, and he could no longer maintain his gentle smile.
He shakily pulled the document from his pocket and handed it over, then respectfully said:
"Please don't misunderstand, Grandmaster Soyer."
"I have indeed brought the king's document. The apprenticeship tournament between the School of the Wolf and the School of the Cat next year will be held in Ban Ade on the fifteenth day after the spring equinox."
"Therefore, I send my greetings on behalf of Ben Ade College."
"As for why I didn't receive the king's letter in advance, I'm not quite sure either."
Even without the Sorceress's mind-reading ability, Soyer could tell that the wizard on the other side was spouting nonsense.
But he might, after all, be the king's messenger.
So, the chief stared at him expressionlessly for a couple more seconds before opening the document in his hand.
The unicorn-shaped wax seal, after being split in two, exudes a fruity aroma.
The handwriting, wording, and titles are all correct.
This letter did indeed come from King Haxor of Kedwen.
Even after confirming the authenticity of the letter, Soyer's expression remained unchanged.
If it is indeed a letter from the king, then this matter is even more serious.
However, considering that Vesemir was already gathering information for him, Soyer didn't get entangled with the wizard. After a moment of silence, he nodded and said:
"I received the letter. You can go now."
"Wait, Grandmaster..."
Grandmaster Soyer cast his gaze upon him again, Farouk's forehead broke out in a cold sweat, but he still asked in a trembling voice:
"I've heard that the Ancient Sea Fortress is magnificent and a miracle that only the School of the Wolf of Witchers could have created. Grandmaster, could you find someone to show me around?"
This wasn't an excessive request, and Farouk's wording eased Soyer's initial reservations about the wizard. He said:
"Wasn't Robin supposed to leave with you?"
"He grew up in Kaer Morhen, let him show you around."
Farouk bowed again and walked toward the door.
As he approached the door, the wizard turned back and asked, seemingly casually:
"The Sorceress Vesemir is in Kaer Morhen..."
Soyer waved his hand, interrupting, "Vesemir left a few days ago."
Farouk nodded thoughtfully, bowed again, and left.
"Bang"
The door was closed.
The Chief of the School of the Wolf held the delicate, white letter paper, feeling a bit of a headache.
In his letter, Haxor also mentioned the elves, hoping that he would also go to the apprentice tournament between the School of the Wolf and the School of the Cat to discuss how to eliminate "Long-ears".
But he had already explicitly refused the offer.
"Never mind, let Vesemir come back and let her see it."
The Witcher put the letter down and looked up out the window.
The peaks of the Blue Mountains are covered in snow all year round, seemingly since time immemorial and likely to remain so.
Gazing at the golden peaks bathed in the glow of the sunset, the Witcher sighed, lost in thought.
"Can the School of the Wolf stand tall for thousands of years like this majestic mountain?"
The library in the north tower.
Without hesitation, Ailin entered the library and headed straight for its depths.
He had already thought it through on the way. Since Robin hadn't told him where to put it, it must be somewhere they both remembered.
He even already guessed what Robin had given him.
A moment later.
"Really!"
Ailin's eyes twitched as he took a carefully wrapped book from the bookshelf where experimental records were kept.
The Witcher Master and the Nighon's One Thousand and One Nights.
"Robin has misunderstood me! How could I possibly like this kind of book!"
As he spoke, Ailin quickly opened the exquisite little lambskin cover.
Skip the introduction and go straight to the main text.
About half an hour later.
"Master Vesemir is truly remarkable; he can even handle a monster like the Night Demon!"
After criticizing the rubbish of the otherworldly story, Ailin couldn't help but praise the Witcher Master's abilities.
But then he ran into a problem.
Where should I put this book?
As a Witcher apprentice living in a dormitory, he certainly couldn't take the book back and put it by his pillow.
I looked around at the dusty bookshelves.
"Just leave it here. It seems like not many witchers like reading anyway."
Thinking it over, Ailin was about to put the book back on the shelf.
"Huh?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw what appeared to be a line of small print on the back of the book.
"To my dearest friend, Ailin."
This short line of small characters was deliberately written in cursive script.
Ailin's face darkened instantly, and he prepared to find something to erase the writing.
After taking a few steps outside, he sighed and hid the book in a secluded corner.
As Ailin walked out of the library, feeling a little down, she almost bumped into someone.
Looking up, I realized it was the wizard I had just seen.
"Ailin?"
Robin, following behind the wizard, was also somewhat surprised to see Ailin, but then proudly introduced him to the wizard beside him:
"Mr. Farouk, this is my good friend Ailin from Kaer Morhen. Don't let his status as a witcher apprentice fool you..."
The wizard named Farouk, like Ailin, seemed somewhat distracted.
He felt a little annoyed as Robin kept introducing the lowly witcher apprentice in front of him and was about to interrupt.
Suddenly, the annoying wizard apprentice changed the subject:
"By the way, Mr. Farouk, didn't you just ask Lady Vesemir what she did in Kaer Morhen?"
"Ailin has been studying alchemy under Lady Vesemir..."
