"Have you seen it?" Hermione asked hurriedly. "Neville's pet toad, I mean. Its name is Trevor."
Vizet gently shook his head. "I haven't seen it, but I hope you can describe exactly what this pet toad looks like."
"I'll go get Neville!" Hermione hurriedly left the compartment.
Penelope asked gently, "Are you planning to use the Summoning Charm?"
Vizet nodded. "Yes. I want to give it a try."
"But you should know, right?" Penelope did not immediately dismiss Vizet's idea. "The Summoning Charm can only be used on inanimate objects."
"Even when exceptions occur, they're limited to creatures like Flobberworms. Their structures are extremely simple, so the Summoning Charm can work on them."
"Why not let him try?" Cho Chang suggested from the side. "Vizet is pretty special... This morning, he even helped a third-year student finish his preparatory homework."
"There was actually something like that?" Penelope exclaimed in surprise. "Putting curiosity into practice isn't wrong in itself. As a Ravenclaw, what I said just now was indeed inappropriate."
Vizet smiled faintly. He had a good impression of Ravenclaw.
After spending this brief time with them, he appreciated Ravenclaw's atmosphere.
Having come to this magical world, learning and exploration had become his primary goals, apart from traveling to Sweden with Luna to search for the Crumple-Horned Snorkack.
There were too many unknown and wondrous things in this world. The magic that touched every aspect of life alone was worth studying endlessly.
Besides that, the countless varieties of Magical creatures and the Wizard Ruins he had yet to see all filled him with longing.
Through Lee Jordan's introduction to the four Houses, Vizet now had a basic impression of each one.
If he could enter Ravenclaw, he should be able to enjoy a decent student life and lay the foundation for his future journeys of exploration.
Before long, Hermione returned with the boy who had lost his toad.
The boy had a round face, and tears covered his flushed cheeks. "Th... thank you... Hermione said... said you could help me find Tre... Trevor..."
Vizet handed him several tissues. "I need a more specific description. What does Trevor look like? Try to explain it clearly so I can identify the target and help you better."
"Th... thank you!" The boy blew his nose, and his sobs subsided considerably. "It's about as big as both my hands. It's Dark Brown, and there are thirteen Bumps on its back..."
The boy clearly cared deeply about Trevor the Toad, and his description was exceptionally detailed.
After explaining and gesturing for a while, he had given Vizet a concrete image.
The next step was very simple...
He drew his Wand and gave it a gentle wave while calling out the incantation: "Trevor the Toad, come flying!"
The Obscurus Core suddenly throbbed, releasing a surge of Ancient Magic Power. The power flowed into the Wand, which radiated Silver-Blue Light at that moment.
Everyone in the compartment turned toward the door in unison.
A commotion suddenly broke out in the corridor.
"Look! A flying toad!"
"Ah! That's disgusting! It touched my hair!"
"How could anyone bring a toad onto the train? Where's it going?"
Amid the panicked "ribbits," a plump toad appeared at the door.
It desperately paddled its limbs and struggled with all its might, but could only helplessly lunge toward Vizet.
Vizet's eyelid twitched, and he withdrew his Wand.
Freed from the Summoning Charm's control, Trevor the Toad plummeted like a stone and landed in Neville's hands.
"Merlin's beard! A toad this big? The Summoning Charm shouldn't have worked..." Penelope rubbed her eyes and quietly opened a box of Chocolate Frog.
"Just as I thought." Cho Chang smiled brightly. "This really is quite interesting!"
Neville kept thanking him. "Thank you so much! I don't even know what to say! My name is Neville, Neville Longbottom!"
Hermione launched into another rapid-fire speech. "Vizet, which House do you plan to join? Gryffindor? Headmaster Dumbledore came from that House..."
"I haven't thought about it. Probably Ravenclaw? If I can choose..." Vizet answered absentmindedly.
His attention was focused on the Chocolate Frog Card. He thought he had just seen Dumbledore return.
The Dumbledore on the returned card seemed somewhat different. His eyes were more lively, and Vizet could sense kindness within them.
"Shouldn't you tell the others who helped? After all, the toad has been found!" Cho Chang's words finally sent Hermione and Neville away.
"Phew..." Watching them leave, Vizet let out a long breath.
Their half-hour of thanks and questioning had left him mentally and physically exhausted.
Cho Chang chuckled softly. "This year's New Students are certainly energetic."
"That's right!" Penelope stood and straightened the Prefect Badge on her chest. "I have to go to a meeting. This Badge actually reminded me to attend by heating up..."
The sky grew darker and darker. Vast swaths of deep purple spread across the heavens, while the mountains and forests below streaked rapidly past the windows, creating an eerie feeling of ghostly shadows everywhere.
Not long afterward, a hollow voice echoed through the train.
"Five minutes from now, the Hogwarts Express will arrive at the station. Please leave your luggage on board. We will send it to the dormitories."
Dumbledore set down the Chocolate Frog Card in his hand, his face covered in smiles. "Such astonishing magical talent... He has only just touched a Wand, and he can already do this much?"
He soon reined in his smile. Remembering some less-than-pleasant events from the past, he sighed softly.
"He still needs proper guidance. I can't let what happened back then happen again. One Harry... one Vizet. Both need special arrangements. It looks like I'll be busy!"
Knock, knock, knock...
There was a knock at the door, and Professor McGonagall entered in a dark green robe. "Headmaster Dumbledore, is this year's Sorting List ready?"
"Of course. You came at just the right time." Dumbledore stood and waved his fingers like a conductor. The parchment scroll on the desk flew up and landed in Professor McGonagall's hands.
The Sorting List was written in beautiful calligraphy. The Emerald Green ink had only just fully dried when Professor McGonagall caught the parchment scroll.
Professor McGonagall glanced at the Sorting List. "Vizet's surname is Lovegood? What was his original surname?"
"Impossible to verify..." Dumbledore shrugged helplessly. "I also investigated that Dark Wizard... Everything is shrouded in mystery."
"So we can only use the surname Lovegood. Previously, it was for his safety, so it was never made public."
"Only after Vizet took the Hogwarts Express today did I have Xenophilius complete the paperwork."
Professor McGonagall nodded. "It was necessary. We didn't expect the news to leak, and the Parkinson Family was so extreme."
"It's over now." Dumbledore waved his hand. "An old Runespoor didn't have much value. They thought that was the full price they had to pay."
"I certainly wasn't going to let them have their way... Using Runespoor eggs as compensation, even a Pure-blood Family would have to suffer for a while."
Professor McGonagall looked worried. "Will they seek another opportunity to retaliate?"
"Not for now, at least." Dumbledore smiled. "I made it clear to their faces that I would keep a close eye on this child."
"As long as Voldemort hasn't returned, they won't dare go that far."
"That's good." Professor McGonagall said, "I should go. The train ought to have arrived."
She walked to a cabinet, took out a battered hat, and left the Headmaster's Office with the Sorting List.
Watching Professor McGonagall's departing figure, Dumbledore waved again. His Purple Robe, covered in star patterns, flew up and automatically dressed him.
A matching purple wizard's hat flew up as well and landed on his head.
Fully prepared, he gently pulled the door of the Headmaster's Office shut...
