The Weird Sisters and the Sorting Hat
As Wizet and Luna entered the Great Hall, they both realized one thing: this year's Start-of-Term Feast would be much more lively.
"Is it because of that?" Luna pointed into the distance, where a band was tuning their instruments in front of the Teachers' Table.
The band members wore deliberately torn black robes, with the edges of the ripped parts secured with leather and rivets;
They all had incredibly thick hair, which seemed to have been fixed in place by some means, resulting in various exaggerated hairstyles;
They each tuned their instruments, which included not only guitars, but also bagpipes, lutes, cellos, drum kits, and basses.
After the tuning is complete, the strings will be plucked, producing an extremely cheerful rhythm, which will cause a stir in the Great Hall.
"You've finally arrived! It's unbelievable!" Anthony Goldstein exclaimed excitedly. "Headmaster Dumbledore actually... actually managed to bring the ' The Weird Sisters '!"
Anthony was a big fan of the "The Weird Sisters" band, and the Magic Radio he brought to Hogwarts was specifically for listening to their the Weird Sisters.
His cheeks flushed red, and when a rhythm started, he would clap his hands and cheer wildly, "I wonder what song they're going to sing!"
"Do they have a new member? Look at that..." He pointed to one of the band members, "Myron Wagtail! He's the lead singer of ' The Weird Sisters '."
"But he's not in the lead vocal position, there must be a surprise waiting for us! I wonder if there will be a new song this time... and what style it will be?"
Luna tilted her head as she looked at Wizet, "Could it be... 'death metal' style?"
Wizet in agreement, saying, "Very likely... Mr. Sorting Hat is a very interesting hat..."
"Death...metal? Never heard of that name before..." Anthony frowned. "I remember they recently went to Northern Europe for inspiration. Could it be that they got their inspiration from the Demiguise?"
The Demiguise is a Magical creature with blue feathers dotted with spots, and it only lets out a long cry when it is about to die.
It is precisely because of these strange habits that it is named "Demiguise". It is a Magical creature with a wide range of uses, and its feathers are an important material for making Veritaserum.
"'Death metal' style?" Cho Chang said from the side. "Even in the Muggle World, it's a very trendy genre. I didn't expect them to play this style. I'm quite looking forward to it..."
"You've got to look forward to it! See that musician strumming his guitar? His name is Kirley Duke..." Anthony gestured excitedly as he continued to give Wizet and the others a rundown of the members.
Not long after, Dumbledore appeared at the entrance of the Great Hall, with a four-legged stool floating behind him and the Sorting Hat held in his hands.
The Sorting Hat was used to practice its vocalizations, constantly opening and closing its opening to produce a series of "ah" sounds of different pitches.
Wizet and Luna smiled knowingly at the sight.
The Sorting Hat's initial idea was likely adopted by Dumbledore, which led to the invitation of the "The Weird Sisters" band.
Dumbledore placed the four-legged stool in the lead singer's position, holding the brim of the Sorting Hat with both hands, and placed it on the stool.
The Great Hall erupted in noise. Whether or not they knew anything about the "The Weird Sisters," everyone now understood one thing: the real lead singer was actually the Sorting Hat.
Cho Chang also realized what was happening and said to Wizet and the others, "You guys! You've been keeping a little secret! But seriously..."
"The Sorting Hat's voice is actually really suited for 'death metal'. When I was sorted, I was almost scared by its singing!"
Amid the commotion, Professor Flitwick also entered the Great Hall.
Behind him followed a group of freshmen, whose robes were dry, but they were all shivering from the heavy rain.
When they saw the "The Weird Sisters" band, they were probably shocked by their unique appearance, and several freshmen actually burst into tears.
Filius Flitwick quickly offered a few words of comfort, then took out a few candies from his pocket and made them fly around the wailing new student like little birds.
The newborn's attention was drawn away, and he quickly stopped crying, reached out and grabbed the candy, then showed a big smile.
After the brief incident subsided, Dumbledore Great Hall, saying, "Welcome back to Hogwarts..."
"I know what you've been through, and I hope the collaboration between ' The Weird Sisters ' and the Sorting Hat can dispel the gloom in your hearts!"
Myron Wagtail, lead singer of the Weird Sisters, bowed and addressed the audience. "Hogwarts wizards, tonight we will use music... to unveil your new destiny!"
Amidst a burst of applause, the guitarist began strumming his guitar, followed closely by the drummer, who unleashed a series of rapid drumbeats, filling the Great Hall with powerful and impactful music.
Although the prelude was brief, it was enough to refresh and uplift the spirit, and the Sorting Hat began its performance.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, the temple of magic! I will set the stage for your destiny! Will you be intelligent and knowledgeable, brave and fearless, or just, tolerant, shrewd and adaptable? The Four Houses await your exploration!"
The sound of the bagpipes grew higher and higher, like a continuous howling mountain wind.
"The light of wisdom shines like the stars, the ocean of knowledge is boundless! Rational thinking leads to limitless innovation. In Ravenclaw, we are the most intelligent!"
The drumbeats grew louder, as continuous as a heartbeat.
"The roar of the lion, the heart of the Champion, fearless in the face of challenge, fighting to the very end! The flames burn, we forge ahead, in Gryffindor, we are fearless!"
The cello's sound grew deeper and deeper, echoing like the deep murmur of the ocean.
"Loyalty and integrity are our beliefs; we work diligently and tirelessly! The power of the earth is as solid as a rock; in Hufflepuff, we are united!"
The lute silently permeates every part of the music.
"Kings in the shadows, the pursuit of power, cunning and ambition! The whispers of serpents, cold and ruthless. In Slytherin, we control our destiny!"
Lead singer Myron Wagtail joined the chorus, and he and the Sorting Hat strained their voices, producing sounds that resembled roars.
"Put me on your wrist, and begin your chapter at Hogwarts! The magical world awaits your exploration! Come on, new students, your destiny is about to be revealed. Let us embark on a magical journey together!"
With the increasingly rapid drumbeats, the Sorting Song came to a perfect end.
The members of the "The Weird Sisters" band bowed together with the Sorting Hat, and the Great Hall erupted in thunderous applause.
The new students stopped trembling; they clenched their fists, their expressions filled with excitement, eager to embark on their magical journey.
Filius Flitwick took several deep breaths before finally calming down.
He slowly unrolled the parchment scroll and said in a loud voice, "Whoever I call your name, come and sit on the stool and put on the Sorting Hat!"
