Background

Anqi was originally a researcher before awakening in the body of a bullied high-school girl in the world of Honkai Impact 3rd. She retains the memories and emotions of both lives, leaving her with a mixture of adult pragmatism, childish vulnerability, and the resentment of the original Anqi. Her awakening identifies her as the Ruler of Domination, an enemy of humanity whose existence depends on possessing or creating viable bodies 1 2 7.

She immediately prioritizes survival. By drawing Honkai Energy from the Imaginary Gateway, she can shape duplicate bodies in her own image and control them as extensions of herself. If every available vessel dies, Anqi herself dies; this vulnerability drives her early reliance on clones, remote save points, false identities, and escape plans 2 14 17.

After Kiana discovers her near a violent crime scene, Anqi flees and battles her across rooftops and a construction crane. Although physically stronger, she is inexperienced and panics under pursuit. She ultimately saves Kiana from falling rather than let her die, before Fu Hua captures her 3 4.

St. Freya Academy chooses recruitment over punishment. Under Himeko's care, Anqi gradually accepts the academy as a home, becomes a Valkyrie, and begins learning both Schicksal combat methods and Taixu Sword Qi 5 7 15 37.

Appearance

Anqi commonly presents herself as a petite young girl, but her body is not fixed: it is a vessel shaped, copied, or possessed through her Dominion Authority. Her alternate bodies can take on different appearances and identities when necessary 2 8 17 364.

Personality

Anqi is intensely survival-oriented, calculating, and adaptable. She treats concealment, deception, backup plans, and the acquisition of useful allies as necessary tools for staying alive. Her outward blankness is often deliberate: she can use the Dominion Authority to make her body appear as emotionless as a puppet while her numerous thought processes assess the situation 5.

Despite calling herself a villain and acknowledging her capacity for ruthlessness, Anqi repeatedly avoids needless harm. She saves Kiana during their first battle, restrains a punch that could have hurt Fu Hua at the cost of destroying her own arm, and later resolves not to take over the bodies of people she considers good 4 11 17.

She is sensitive to kindness and prone to attachment. Warm meals, affection, reassurance, and being given a place to belong affect her deeply, even when she tries to remain detached.
