Background / History

Hua was a Flame-Chaser from the Previous Civilization. Over fifty thousand years later, she remains remembered as one of its most outstanding members, though much of her past was obscured by severe injuries and memory loss. Divine Sound created the “invincible” Immortal Crimson Heron but also trapped her in a mental cage that steadily eroded her original self; the swords that later struck her damaged this cage enough to give her partial freedom. 96 127

In Shenzhou, Fu Hua became the legendary Immortal Crimson Heron and founded the Great Void Sword School. She once held most of the Keys of Domination at Mount Taixu, though many were later damaged or lost. 38 56

At St. Freya Academy, Fu Hua maintained the outward role of a calm class monitor while concealing her aura with glasses. Anqi repeatedly watched her morning practice before challenging her to a duel. When Anqi deliberately held back rather than hurt her, Fu Hua recognized both her talent and self-restraint, deciding to watch over her closely. 10 11 177

Fu Hua initially refused Anqi’s request for martial instruction, believing the true techniques of Taixu Sword Qi required talent possessed by fewer than one percent of people and that revealing them could compromise her own cover. Anqi’s Honkai Energy Corrosion Syndrome changed her decision: Fu Hua accepted her as a disciple in order to prolong her life and began teaching her the Sword Heart Incantation. 36 37 38

During the Chiyou crisis, Fu Hua encountered Ji Lin, an ancient acquaintance who recognized her as Crimson Kite. Though Ji Lin’s near-Herrscher physiology alarmed her, Fu Hua chose to protect and accompany her rather than abandon her. She dueled Ji Lin until the corruption dissipated, then brought her to Great Void Mountain rather than leave her exposed to Otto’s scrutiny. 62 65 69

After returning to Great Void Mountain, Fu Hua underwent a fourteen-day treatment arranged by Cang Xiaoxuan. The treatment restored her body and freed her to fight with previously impossible passion, but it also removed her Sword Heart; she chose to rebuild her strength through her renewed physical body rather than cultivate the Sword Heart again. 126 128

When Anqi’s Herrscher nature threatened to overwhelm her humanity, Fu Hua defied Skyfire and Schicksal’s intervention, insisting that Great Void Mountain would resolve its own affairs. She continued to trust Anqi even when the outcome was uncertain. 177 178

Fu Hua later faced Kevin in the decisive battle. Though they had been comrades for fifty thousand years, they fought as enemies to protect their respective convictions; Fu Hua entered the battle determined to defend the era and the people she had grown attached to. 335 337

Appearance

Fu Hua is a petite, refined young woman with gray hair, emerald eyes, and a composed expression. She commonly wears glasses, both as part of her student appearance and to conceal her aura. 10 51 177

  • Wore athletic shorts and a short-sleeved training outfit during morning exercise at St. Freya. 10
  • Often practices in loose blue martial attire at Great Void Mountain. 128
  • Her movements are described as fluid and dance-like, capable of drawing surrounding mist into dragon- or sword-like currents. 10
  • Her ordinary dormitory is sparse, gray-and-white, clean, and minimally decorated. 56

Personality

Fu Hua is calm, restrained, and habitually self-effacing. Even while acting as St. Freya’s class monitor, she rarely seeks attention or praise, partly because she sees excessive pride as harmful to growth. Her outward composure conceals deep loneliness, guilt over her past, and fear of losing those she loves. 10 56 121

She is an attentive and protective teacher. Fu Hua worries intensely over Anqi’s safety, respects Anqi’s loyalty to her friends even when it causes her concern, and refuses to let others decide Anqi’s fate. 56 126 177

Fu Hua is also notably forgiving. She reflects critically on her own former extremism and bears no grudge against Cheng Lingshuang, despite the latter having dealt her a near-fatal blow in the past. 725

Her seriousness is offset by a particular weakness for cute behavior and requests, which can make her unexpectedly easy to persuade. 128

Abilities & Skills

Martial Arts Mastery

Fu Hua is the ancestor of Shenzhou martial arts and a master whose instinctive movements are already ideal stances. She generally favors unarmed combat, as her fists, feet, and swordsmanship have effectively become one. 10 128

  • Completes a customary 20-kilometer morning run before practicing. 10
  • Can expel a breath forcefully enough to pierce mist over ten meters away. 10
  • Deflects rapid attacks with precise, economical movements and a stance described as stable as a mountain. 11
  • Uses Heart-to-Heart Fist techniques; without the Sword God, her fists and sword are considered equally effective. 128
  • Can spar with advanced swordsmen such as Ah Lin while assessing and correcting their cultivation. 81

Taixu Sword Qi

Fu Hua is the founder and foremost teacher of Taixu Sword Qi. She teaches its mental, physical, and weapon-based disciplines, including the Sword Heart Incantation and the progression from Form Resonance to Soul Resonance and Divine Resonance. 37 40 50

  • Taught Anqi the 462-syllable Sword Heart Incantation to cultivate the Mind essence of Taixu Sword Qi. 38
  • Explains that Form Manifestation contains twenty-one forms across Guard, Transform, Initiate, and Open styles. 40
  • Defines Soul Resonance as treating every weapon as the sword held in one’s heart. 50
  • States that Divine Resonance requires at least the fourth layer of Sword Heart, immense Honkai Energy, mental strength, and willpower. 50
  • Lost her own Sword Heart after treatment and no longer intends to re-cultivate it. 128

Great Void Sword God

Fu Hua once possessed the Great Void Sword God, a pinnacle technique formed through extreme refinement of her martial arts and sword cultivation. 128 265

  • Her former combat style developed under the need to maintain absolute precision and avoid destabilizing Divine Sound. 128
  • Recognized the Herrscher of Rock’s imitation of the Great Void Sword God and identified its sword intent as an unstable reconstruction of her lost realm. 265
  • Her accumulated martial arts could allow a user of her peak body to overpower the Herrscher of Rock. 265

Fusion Warrior Physiology

Fu Hua’s Garuda genes grant her exceptional resilience, recovery, and aerial mobility. 128 154

  • Can fly naturally and, after surgery, can ignore gravity entirely. 154
  • Recovered from long-term physical and mental restrictions after treatment. 128
  • Previously had to stop fighting whenever her mental state wavered, as Divine Sound could cause loss of control or death. 128
  • After treatment, can fight with greater intensity and endurance, though at the cost of her Sword Heart. 128

Spiritual Combat and True Qi Control

Fu Hua can enter spiritual spaces, regulate true qi, and convey intent through combat. 62 65

  • Entered Ji Lin’s spiritual world to confront her hatred, fear, and Honkai influence. 65
  • Channeled true qi into Ji Lin’s body to stabilize her condition. 62
  • Used a sword duel and direct spiritual reassurance to disperse Ji Lin’s dark aura. 65

Weapons & Items

  • Glasses — Used to suppress and conceal her aura while at St. Freya. 177
  • Longsword — Used in training and sparring, though Fu Hua does not depend on a sword to employ her martial arts. 50 128
  • Keys of Domination — Formerly held most of these Divine Keys at Mount Taixu; later secured one for Anqi. 38 56
  • Fire Spirit Sword — A Key of Domination entrusted to Anqi after it recognized her. Fu Hua intended it to provide Anqi a better chance of survival during the Chiyou mission. 56

Relationships

  • Anqi — Disciple. Fu Hua accepts Anqi as her student to save her from Honkai Energy Corrosion Syndrome, teaches her Taixu Sword Qi, and repeatedly prioritizes her safety and humanity. 37 56 177
  • Ji Lin — Ancient friend and companion. Fu Hua promises to remain by Ji Lin’s side, protects her from external scrutiny, and brings her back to Great Void Mountain. 65 69 122
  • A-Lin — Companion and trainee at Great Void Mountain. Fu Hua identifies A-Lin as the fragment who inherited more complete swordsmanship and martial cultivation. 81
  • Cang Xiaoxuan — Longtime friend, adviser, and caretaker of Great Void Mountain. Xiaoxuan arranges Fu Hua’s treatment and challenges her indecision when Anqi’s situation becomes dangerous. 121 123 126
  • Otto — Old associate of approximately five centuries. Fu Hua requests a Key of Domination from him but increasingly resists his involvement in matters concerning Anqi and Ji Lin. 38 69 177
  • Su — Former Flame-Chaser comrade. Su helps treat Fu Hua’s condition and is someone she continues to trust deeply. 127 128 178
  • Kevin — Flame-Chaser comrade turned opponent in the decisive battle. Their final confrontation is marked by mutual understanding rather than hostility. 335
  • Xiao Shi / Inner Demon — A manifestation of Fu Hua’s inner demon sharing her body and many of her memories. Their relationship is antagonistic and competitive, though Fu Hua ultimately allows her continued stability to be observed. 251 252 334
  • Cheng Lingshuang — Former disciple. Although Cheng once inflicted a near-fatal wound on Fu Hua, Fu Hua forgives her and regards her advancement to Supreme Freedom as a continuation of Taixu Sword Qi. 725
