Psychic Power

Before long, those guys came running back in a panic, with waves of violent tremors following behind them.

The ground was visibly shaking as a nearly four-meter-tall bare-chested man entered the somewhat cramped alley. His entire body was packed with muscles, and his build was unbelievably massive—so huge it was hard to believe he was even human. From his appearance, he looked like a fusion of a primitive giant and modern machinery. He had a close-cropped haircut, a mouth full of large gold teeth, and a long, narrow scar across his face. Numerous scars could also be seen across his half-bare body, showing that he had been through plenty. Among them, the most conspicuous were the huge crisscrossed scars on his chest and lower abdomen.

"Hiding in such a cramped little alley? How pathetic." He roared at the punks, then casually pulled a roadside signpost out of the concrete. It looked effortless, as simple as pulling a toothpick from a piece of fruit. He then snapped the metal signpost in half with one hand and casually tossed the broken pole aside.

It was obviously a show of force, meant to put Ryuu Mufei, the rumored sorcerer, in his place.

Ryuu Mufei raised his head to look at the monstrous man and said teasingly, "Heh. This is the first time in my life I've had to look up at someone like this."

"You lot were beaten by this little runt?" The hulking man clearly did not take Ryuu Mufei seriously as he asked his underlings in disbelief.

"Boss, don't underestimate him. Didn't we tell you? He knows sorcery—sorcery!" the shameless man in sunglasses replied.

"Hey, look. A big guy showed up." Ryuseki nudged Lin Yingbin beside him. "The ground shakes when that guy walks."

"This whole area was built with shoddy materials. The construction crew cut corners, and the foundations are hollow," Lin Yingbin casually made up.

"Could it be that you're just too weak and making excuses for yourselves?" The muscular man grinned, revealing a mouthful of gold teeth. Then every muscle in his body began to quiver, making him look like an exposed internal combustion engine.

"He looks a little like an orc, but not quite," Ryuu Mufei muttered as he watched him.

"Boss, it's true! He really knows some kind of sorcery. It's terrifying!" Since the big man did not believe them, those guys kept insisting.

"Honestly, you're all useless. You're boosting someone else's prestige." The muscular man suddenly turned his head and threw a punch straight at Ryuu Mufei.

Caught off guard by the sudden punch, Ryuu Mufei froze for an instant before immediately dodging aside. The spot where he had just been standing was punched through, leaving a crater half a meter deep. This was concrete ground. What kind of monster was this guy?

"Kid, why aren't you using your sorcery?" Those guys began taunting him again.

"Kid, so you can be scared too. Makes sense. Our boss is a wanted criminal with a bounty on his head, known as Retired Mercenary. How could a brat like you possibly be a match for our boss?" the man with the purple mohawk mocked.

"Running into our boss means you're out of luck. You're dead this time. Even if you know sorcery, it's nothing in front of our boss, Teddy Worth."

The muscular man continued attacking, causing wave after wave of violent tremors.

"Boss, we'll help you!" Those shameless guys actually opened fire on Ryuu Mufei together.

Ryuu Mufei grew somewhat angry at the sight. "These guys are getting in the way!"

Then he waved his right hand. Every bullet flying toward him changed trajectory and shot toward the muscular man instead.

"Boss, this is that kid's sorcery. Be careful!" Those guys shouted excitedly at the hulking man.

"It's fine!!!" The muscular man grinned.

Without a single miss, every bullet struck the muscular giant.

A series of clangs rang out. Ryuu Mufei sensed that something was wrong and frowned at the big man.

Sure enough, the bullets fell to the ground like they had struck steel plates. Looking again at the bullets, every one of them had deformed, their tips ground flat.

"What kind of skin is that? It's actually this hard and thick!"

Ryuseki, who was hiding nearby, could hardly believe it either. He stared fixedly at the muscular giant as if he were looking at a monster.

"Hehehe!" The muscular man grinned, his large gold teeth especially conspicuous. He shook his head at Ryuu Mufei as though expressing sympathy, then arrogantly walked over to an abandoned wrecked car.

With a loud bang, he slapped the hood of the car, instantly leaving a palm print in it. Then he easily lifted the wrecked car. It weighed at least two or three tons, yet he raised it just like that. Then, like a child angrily tossing away a toy, he hurled it at Ryuu Mufei.

"Heh heh heh, let's see how you little bug dodge this."

"What?" Caught off guard, Ryuu Mufei instinctively raised his hand to block it.

Just as the car was about to crush him, it was blasted dozens of meters away.

Ryuu Mufei knew clearly that it was not his power, because at his current level, he could not achieve that kind of defense.

"What?" The muscular man stared over there with a grave expression.

Ryuu Mufei, too, looked in astonishment at the man who had suddenly appeared before him.
