Ryuseki's arms were continuously surging with what looked like gusts of air, and then these gusts slowly enveloped his arms, like a layer of armor.
"Now I'll let you know the consequences of insulting the person I cherish," Ryuseki grabbed Cheng Shun Gong's injured limb with one hand and threw him away. "I'm going to kill you in my brother's name."
A flash of white light streaked across, and a tremendous force struck Ryuseki's chest. In an instant, a large cross appeared on Ryuseki's chest, and Ryuseki was pushed back by this powerful impact.
"Wuwuwuwuwa!"
Ryuseki resisted with all his might, but such a powerful impact couldn't possibly come from someone like Cheng Shun Gong.
Ryuseki was pushed back dozens of meters by this immense force before he finally managed to negate the impact. Looking at the ground, a long and wide drag mark stretched out.
He raised his head, looked at the black humanoid figure that appeared before him, and asked, "Who? Who exactly are you?"
Cheng Shun Gong was also surprised by the sudden appearance of the person; it seemed this wasn't someone he had called. He stared intently at the figure. However, the figure stood between the two of them with an air of calm composure.
Seeing that the person didn't answer, Ryuseki roared at him, "Hey! Don't think I'll forgive you just because you're silent. That's wishful thinking."
The gloomy dark clouds that had covered the sky gradually parted, and a beam of light pierced through the not-so-narrow gap. This beam of light illuminated the man, making his appearance clear.
This man was the one who had saved Ryuu Mufei once before, the man wearing that familiar crimson-brimmed hat. This time, he appeared before Ryuseki again. Although his purpose was unclear, his appearance was indeed a considerable surprise to Ryuseki. After all, Lin Yingbin and Ryuu Mufei had spent considerable effort trying to track this man down, but without any success.
Finally, the man spoke. His tone was extremely cold, devoid of any human warmth as he said, "I hope you will let him go!"
Ryuseki glared at the man and then at Cheng Shun Gong behind him, letting out a cold snort and answering righteously, "Hmph! Impossible. I will absolutely not let him go."
"Show mercy where mercy can be shown, let him off the hook!" the man replied. However, from his shadowed eyes beneath the brim of his hat, one could clearly see the gaze of a bloodthirsty demon, sharp and filled with killing intent. Yet, this aura didn't make Ryuseki feel any pressure or fear. But then again, why was he pleading for such a guy when he had such eyes?
"Aren't you being too naive! Let him go? He's committed the grave sin of insulting my brother! Insulting someone's reputation is no different from taking away their dignity. I cannot tolerate anything being taken from me." Ryuseki suddenly roared at the man in the crimson hat, "This is an unforgivable sin."
Faced with his opponent's unwavering killing intent, Ryuseki showed no fear, and even a more persistent hatred emanated from his very bones.
Seeing Ryuseki like this, the man said in a low voice, "You resonated with that resentment?" Then, he quickly warned Cheng Shun Gong behind him, "Hurry and leave. I'll handle this. If you don't leave now, he'll kill you!"
Hearing his words, Ryuseki became even more enraged, and a large amount of energy began to surge from his body.
However, it wasn't just Ryuseki who was enraged; even Cheng Shun Gong inexplicably threw a tantrum. Perhaps feeling that his pride had been greatly wounded, he took out his anger on the man, yelling, "You bastard, you're underestimating me too much! That was just me being careless earlier."
Seeing both of them poised to attack him, Ryuseki taunted, "What? Are you here to die too?"
The man ignored Ryuseki's shouting and instead warned the person behind him, "Get out of here quickly!"
"Hmph, you're underestimating me too much!" Cheng Shun Gong sat up and then made an even more reckless move. Disregarding the warning, he charged at Ryuseki, yelling, "Just watch, trash like him can't kill me. I'll finish him off right now." Cheng Shun Gong actually made the first move, lunging forward with a swift step.
"Utterly and hopelessly foolish!" the man muttered, staring intently at Cheng Shun Gong's retreating back.
"Bastard, die!"
Seeing Cheng Shun Gong charging at him, Ryuseki reacted accordingly. The gusts of air erupting from his fist converged. It was dangerous; if that fist hit Cheng Shun Gong, it would be disastrous.
He didn't stand by idly and quickly rushed forward, then forcefully kicked Ryuseki away. Ryuseki was sent flying a considerable distance, lying there gritting his teeth, while his fist had smashed a large crater into the ground. Indeed, such power was enough to tear Cheng Shun Gong's flesh and bones apart.
Ryuseki suddenly straightened up, his body tense, and glared furiously at the man who had kicked him away.
The man in the hat also grew angry, shouting at Cheng Shun Gong, "Are you going to get lost or not? Do you think I told you to leave for your own good?" His voice, low and filled with fierce killing intent, was accompanied by a stare from his blood-red eyes at Cheng Shun Gong, his patience completely gone like a bloodthirsty beast.
"Mind your own business! Don't try to order me around." Cheng Shun Gong was also displeased. His arrogance prevented him from listening. Even though he was facing a great crisis, he didn't seem to realize how dangerous his situation was.
Losing his last shred of patience, the man no longer wanted to say anything more to him.
"Scram!"
He turned and delivered a kick, sending him flying a considerable distance. He crashed through branches and rolled to the riverbank. At this point, he had also fallen unconscious from the violent impact, but this was much better than losing his life.
"Now then, I've received a request. He doesn't want your hands stained with the blood of slaughter!"
Previously, Ryuseki had never systematically learned combat methods. Furthermore, Ryuseki's brother, Kouhi, had strictly forbidden him from fighting, which was why he hadn't fought back before. This was because his brother knew that a vast and terrifying power was hidden within his body. Ryuseki could not control this power at the moment. If he unleashed this power during a fight with someone, the destructive force he would bring would be unbearable for ordinary people. Cheng Shun Gong had already triggered this power, and Ryuseki was now in considerable danger.
Ryuseki slowly walked towards him.
"Who are you? Why are you opposing me and letting him go? Are you also here to take away what I'm protecting?"
His face turned ashen; he had lost all rationality. This man was also quite troubled by the trouble he had caused.
"My name is 'Slumber,' and I am a Bounty Hunter," the man who called himself Slumber, wearing the crimson-brimmed hat, continued. "If you have any issues with me, you can come find me anytime." With that, Slumber intended to escape this dangerous situation and allow Ryuseki to regain his senses.
"Wait!" Ryuseki called out to Slumber, who was about to leave. "You let my enemy go, and you think you can just leave?"
"Then what do you want? I've already let the person go!" Slumber turned around, his blood-red pupils fixed on Ryuseki as he asked coldly.
"What do I want? Since you let him go, you should naturally die in his place!"
