Background / History

Northern Azure Spiritual Academy is renowned across the Great Thousand World as one of the Five Great Academies and is counted among the two most powerful forces on the Bei Cang Continent. It holds annual new-student enrollment, drawing candidates through the four Northern Azure Realms. 7 173

The academy’s eastern Northern Azure Realm experienced an unusually brutal intake in Bai Ye’s year: eight Heaven Merging Realm newcomers entered the trial, leaving the number of survivors at less than one-tenth of the other three regions. 76 173

Its long-running conflict with the Dragon Demon Palace shapes much of its external activity. The two powers avoid direct fighting at the academy’s gates, largely due to the strength of the Academy Protecting Spirit Array, while their younger members conduct missions, rescues, and bounty hunts against one another. 148 180 192

During the Dragon Demon Palace’s later offensive, the academy discovered that Heaven Seat Elder Long Weizhen had been a Dragon Demon Palace infiltrator named Mo Weizhen. Dean Tai Cang and the elders responded by preparing the academy for war. 259

Campus

Northern Azure Spiritual Academy is a vast, self-contained world of halls, mountains, forests, rivers, and seas. New students arrive on an enormous stone platform, from which the academy’s scale is visible. 24

A prominent bird-shaped mountain bears the academy’s two principal ranking tablets: the Divine Soul Rankings and the Heaven Rankings. 24

Northern Azure Hall

Northern Azure Hall serves as the gateway into the academy. Only candidates whose forehead Marks have reached at least Level 4 may pass through its Golden Giant Gate. 22
