Background
Before her reincarnation, Lu Yao was Yao Ji, a goddess who died in battle. Her soul drifted without an attachment before settling on a blade of grass. Lord Yunzhong gave her a body and taught her spiritual power, but later punished her; Yao Ji was subsequently reincarnated as Lu Yao. She does not initially remember the reason for that punishment. 483 484
In Meng Anli's memories of their previous life, Lu Yao repeatedly attempted to rescue the imprisoned and mutilated Anli from the Meng family. After finally freeing her chains, Lu Yao fought the servants sent after them and was beaten to death. 6 In their present lives, Lu Yao remains Anli's most steadfast companion and refuses to distance herself from the Meng family's conflict. 7
Lu Yao was engaged to Meng Xiuchen when she entered Xuantian Academy, but she rejects later attempts by Meng Xiuchen and Meng Mingde to revive the engagement. 4 98 She joins Meng Anli in Class Gui at Anli's request and devotes herself to cultivation and alchemy. 17 28

Though blunt and quick to curse at hypocrites, Lu Yao is compassionate in practice. She provides medicine freely to people in need, treats grievously wounded allies, and distributes core-forming pills to mortals struggling to cultivate. 252 429 464 She is also practical and commercially shrewd, refusing to sell her eighth-tier Golden Elixir cheaply when Meng Mingde seeks to buy it. 99
Abilities & Skills
Alchemy
Lu Yao is a gifted alchemist whose aptitude earns praise from the Longevity Star and Grand Supreme Elder.

Poisons and Countermeasures
