Background / History

Qian Renxue is the daughter of former Pope Qian Xunji and the granddaughter of Grand Elder Qian Daoliu. Her father doted on her, and his death leaves her grieving privately in the Worship Hall garden. Although she composes herself when Azure Luan approaches, her reddened eyes reveal her distress. Bai Wanwan’s introduction and offer of candy begin a friendship that helps lift her spirits 4 5 6 16.

Qian Daoliu regards her as the natural future pope under ordinary succession, but considers her too young to assume the office after Qian Xunji’s unexpected death. Bibi Dong is therefore selected to succeed him. When Qian Daoliu returns without finding Tang Hao, Qian Renxue resolves to avenge her father herself 13.

Bibi Dong later presents an undercover mission as a possible unfulfilled wish of Qian Xunji, making Qian Renxue feel obliged to accept despite her reluctance. Bai Wanwan challenges that claim by asking whether her devoted father would really have sent his nine-year-old daughter away.
