Background / History

Childhood and Papal Training

Bibi Dong grew up in a small village where obtaining enough food was a daily concern. After her Martial Soul awakening revealed exceptional talent, Qian Xunji took her as his disciple. He trained her for twelve years, and she became Spirit Hall's Holy Maiden and designated papal heir 117 233.

She once regarded Qian Xunji as the person she respected most. Her wish to leave Spirit Hall and sever her ties with it for Yu Xiaogang became the turning point in their relationship. Looking back, she acknowledges that she failed to consider the consequences of abandoning the faction that had trained her as its successor 116 117 233.

Qian Xunji subsequently wronged her in a way that Qian Daoliu regarded as irreversible and shameful to the Qian family. His actions became the source of her hatred toward him; that hatred also poisoned her relationship with their daughter, Qian Renxue 7 28 233.

Qian Xunji's Death and Succession

When Qian Xunji returned gravely injured, Bibi Dong calmly ordered Spirit Hall's best healing Soul Masters to treat him. Her outward composure concealed a momentary flash of killing intent 112.

She later announced his death without visible distress and laughed after being left alone. Although most of the Spirit Master World believed Tang Hao's attack had caused Qian Xunji's death, Bai Wanwan knew that Bibi Dong had killed him and devoured his soul 7 29 108.

Qian Daoliu selected her as the next Pope because of her abilities, his family's debt to her, and his hope that taking personal revenge would allow her to abandon her hatred. She concealed her lingering resentment during the announcement and completed her inauguration afterward 28 51.

Political Schemes and Personal Change

Bibi Dong drafted plans titled “Plot Tiandou, Soul Hunting Operation.” She also presented Qian Renxue with an undercover mission, describing it as an unfinished wish of Qian Xunji. Bai Wanwan recognized that invoking her father's wishes made it difficult for Qian Renxue to refuse 27 48.

Her later change involved abandoning the hatred and despair that had dominated her judgment. She began seeking a way to repair her relationship with Qian Renxue, first asking Bai Wanwan whether a broken mother–daughter bond could be restored 16 105.

Her initial appeal failed: Qian Renxue challenged her attempt to explain years of neglect by saying she had “reasons.” Bibi Dong eventually recounted her past directly and asked for an opportunity to make amends rather than immediate forgiveness. Qian Renxue subsequently became willing to take a step back, though Bai Wanwan recognized that their childhood wounds would leave lasting cracks 175 233 237.

Succession Reform and the Spirit Hall Empire

Bibi Dong proposed restoring Spirit Hall's former division between two equal offices: one responsible for external and military affairs, the other for internal government. She considered Qian Renxue and Bai Wanwan complementary successors. Although she initially considered including Hu Liena, she removed her disciple's name because talent alone did not match the other candidates' demonstrated strength, achievements, and independence 169 170.

After Xue Ke abdicated, Bibi Dong took the throne and renamed the Heaven Dou Empire the Spirit Hall Empire, making Spirit City its capital. She retained Qian Renxue and Bai Wanwan's princely titles, granted Xue Ke the title Princess Nian'an and Heaven Dou City as her fief, and appointed Ning Fengzhi National Teacher 267 268.

She later presided over Qian Renxue and Bai Wanwan's inauguration into the new leadership arrangement. Qian Renxue assumed responsibility for external military affairs, while Bai Wanwan's office covered government affairs, with administrative work delegated to Ning Fengzhi 272.

Ascension

Bibi Dong ultimately became the new Rakshasa God. Her first plans after ascending were to visit Qian Renxue and Bai Wanwan, then see Hu Liena and provide further guidance 283.

The disturbance involving the Golden Dragon King was caused by the previous Rakshasa God, not Bibi Dong. Newly ascended, she heard the resulting commotion with confusion and used divine power to observe events in the God Realm 283 284.

Appearance

  • Papal attire: Wears the Pope's ceremonial clothing during official duties and meetings 105 116.
  • Divine mark: A dark-purple, scythe-like pattern appears above her brow during contact with the illusory figure associated with her divine inheritance 51.

Personality

Bibi Dong maintains a controlled, authoritative manner even in emotionally charged situations. Her calm announcement of Qian Xunji's death, concealed resentment during her nomination, and measured conversations with Bai Wanwan show how rarely she exposes her feelings directly 7 28 116 117.

Her early conduct is shaped by hatred and selective affection: she treats Hu Liena gently while looking at Qian Renxue as though she were a stranger. After reconsidering her past, she becomes more willing to acknowledge responsibility, endure rejection, and pursue reconciliation without demanding forgiveness 115 175 233.

Her changing priorities are especially clear in her treatment of Yu Xiaogang. She initially asks Bai Wanwan to show him consideration out of lingering sentiment, but later dismisses news of his death and concentrates on state affairs and repairing her relationship with her daughter 116 202.
