BOOM!
The cluster bombs detonated.
A surging sea of fire instantly engulfed the sergeant and Kugath.
When the flames subsided, the sergeant had been reduced to smithereens.
Kugath, however, was still alive, though his obese body had become even more tattered.
"The Corpse Emperor's lackeys are truly annoying," Kugath muttered unhappily.
Ten-Timer and the other players looked at the Great Unclean One, a faint sense of despair rising in their hearts.
"We still can't kill him! These Warp entities really don't care about science at all, do they!"
"The N-Party's health bars are just too terrifying!"
"I apologize for mocking the Imperium in the past; these monsters are just too hard to kill."
Qin Yun climbed to his feet and used the skill Emperor's Light to restore himself to his peak state.
Looking at the charred wreckage of the Leman Russ Tank, he knew they had died to buy him time.
"Your heroic souls shall surely return to the Golden Throne."
After praying for the dead, Qin Yun charged toward Kugath once more.
Kugath swung his greatsword, intending to cleave Qin Yun in two.
Qin Yun dodged to the side, causing the attack to miss, then rushed to the creature's side and seized the opportunity to draw the Blade of Divine Judgment.
"How foolish; you cannot possibly be my match."
The greatsword in Kugath's hand swept in a semicircle, forcing Qin Yun back.
BOOM!!
On the other side of the Hive City, another earth-shattering explosion rang out.
"Target destroyed. Mission accomplished."
Blood Pigeon's voice crackled through the communicator.
The second altar had been destroyed, and the scale of the Warp Storm began to shrink.
Some daemons, unable to maintain their forms, exploded into nothingness and were forced back into the Warp.
"Destroy the last altar at all costs! Without the altars as anchor points, these daemons won't be able to stay in the material world!"
Ten-Timer shouted, directing the players and Imperial soldiers to attack the altar.
Without the support of the Warp, the daemons were exceptionally weak.
One after another, they were shattered under the fierce firepower of the Imperial loyalists.
The momentum of the battle had reversed.
"The situation has become very unfavorable, but I should still be able to take you with me."
Kugath realized that his failure was imminent.
But he still hoped to take Qin Yun with him and offer him to Grandfather Nurgle.
Kugath launched another assault on Qin Yun.
The rusted greatsword was heavy and powerful, with every strike delivered at full strength.
Qin Yun dodged continuously, avoiding direct confrontation.
After making the creature miss yet again, Qin Yun seized the chance to unleash the Emperor's Light.
A brilliant golden radiance erupted suddenly, causing Kugath to shriek and stagger backward.
Qin Yun seized the opportunity, thrusting the Blade of Divine Judgment deep into Kugath's body and pouring all his power into it.
The obese, bloated body of the Great Unclean One ignited with brilliant golden flames.
"I will return."
After leaving those words behind, Kugath's body turned to ash in the flames, and his soul returned to the Plague Garden of Nurgle.
"If you return, I won't let you get away like I did today."
Qin Yun watched the ashes and muttered to himself.
At this moment, a golden screen appeared.
Congratulations on gaining experience. Level LV11 -> LV12 Learned skill: Prescience (Can see various visions of the future) Learned skill: Psychic Shield (Can use psychic power to construct a shield to block ranged attacks) Learned skill: Soul Travel (During meditation, can allow your soul to enter the Warp for travel)
BOOM!
Not long after Kugath fell, the final altar was also destroyed under the saturation bombardment of the Imperial loyalists.
The Warp Storm subsided in its wake, and the reality of the universe reclaimed control.
The distorted spatial structures and physical laws were corrected.
The daemons could no longer maintain their forms; they exploded one after another, returning to the Warp.
Seeing the failure of the Nurgle daemon army, the Rebels and Cultists of Goliath Hive City collapsed as well.
They no longer had the courage to fight, and were hunted down by the surviving players and the Imperial military, driven completely out of Goliath Hive City.
The Double-Headed Eagle banner of the Empire fluttered throughout the dilapidated hive city.
The survivors who had luckily escaped corruption crawled out from every corner, cheering and welcoming the Imperial army.
They were dressed in rags, their faces covered in festering wounds and pustules caused by the plague infection.
But one thing was fortunate: they had survived and lived to see the rescue.
The battle for Goliath Hive City was declared a victory.
When the news reached Tyreen Hive City, the crowd, who had been restless while waiting for the final result, burst into cheers.
Parades celebrating the victory soon filled the streets, both large and small.
The victory of Qin Yun also caused ripples in the Warp, forming a surging wave that could not be ignored, drawing the attention of the gods.
A minion of the Cursed One capable of contending with a Greater Daemon of Chaos.
A new hope and plan for that rotting corpse upon the Golden Throne.
Nurgle brewed its plague soup; it did not blame the defeated Kugath, but instead began to ponder how to concoct a plague that would make the opponent submit.
In a secret temple, deep near the labyrinth, Tzeentch was watching the tremors and fluctuations of the threads of fate.
Feeling the changes in fate, it revealed a smile.
It pondered how to weave fate to push for more changes.
The Prince of Pleasure, indulging in an endless feast of souls, sent out its most loyal subordinates.
They were to use every means necessary to lure the opponent toward corruption.
And in the Brass Citadel, the Blood God had already issued a divine oracle.
Whoever could hunt the minion of the Cursed One and claim the opponent's skull would receive its reward.
The minions of the Dark Gods acted one after another.
They would accumulate power, plot conspiracies, and pull the threads of fate, all to capture this brand-new prey.
"I leveled up to 10 and unlocked two new skills, 'Prescience' and 'Telepathy'. You can come to me for tarot card divination in the future."
"The system also prompted me that I can exchange for Gene-Seed to ascend to an Astartes."
Ten-Timer, having received the level-up notification, spoke with great excitement.
"I also got a level-up prompt, but the skill is just average," Twisted Man said.
"A passive skill, 'Indomitable', allows me to withstand more damage and pain, and it also increases stamina."
"Looks like you have the potential to be a Stinky Can," the Bald Monk chimed in.
Twisted Man shook his head repeatedly.
"Be a Stinky Can? No way. Just the thought of having to acknowledge that idiot Mortarion as my gene-father makes my skin crawl."
"Why not? When you meet Mortarion later," Ten-Timer tried his best to imitate a majestic voice, "you can just tell him, 'Mortarion, let the real Legion Commander come to see me.' The scene would definitely be explosive."
The Bald Monk rolled his eyes. "Why didn't you try that in front of Kugath just now and have it pass the message back to Mortarion?"
"Mortarion is petty and holds grudges. If Kugath goes back and says that, who knows if he'll try to chop me down the next time he sees me? Too dangerous."
Twisted Man widened his eyes, looking at Ten-Timer in disbelief.
"Then you're telling me to go court death? So it's 'sacrifice the friend to save oneself,' is it?"
"What are you afraid of!! If the Death Guard doesn't go after their own gene-father, are they even the Death Guard?? You should learn from Typhus."
"Forget it, let's not talk about it. I'm not even sure if I'll be compatible with the Death Guard!"
"You're definitely Death Guard Gene-Seed."
"Why?"
"Intuition. You're just good seed for the Death Guard; the skill you gained says it all."
"."
After the battle ended, the players relaxed and began to joke around.
The rewards for defeating the Rebels and the Nurgle daemon army were extremely generous.
Not only did it allow many players to level up, but it also earned them a substantial amount of Faith Points.
"I've calculated it, and it seems I have enough Faith Points. Once I get back to the Imperial Glory, I'll ascend. Please, I pray, let it not be Gene-Seed compatible with a Stinky Can."
Twisted Man hadn't been worried at first, but once Bald Monk brought it up, he started to get a vague sense that things weren't looking good.
"If there's such a thing as compatibility, wouldn't I be a shoo-in for the Thousand Sons?" Ten-Timer scratched his head. "I was so busy talking about you that I forgot my own situation isn't any better!"
"Just thinking about that One-Eyed Ogryn makes me terrified that if I get the Thousand Sons Gene-Seed implanted, my IQ is going to plummet."
"Maybe it'll be the Grey Knights; the Grey Knights are also psychic big guys," Bald Monk consoled him.
"."
While Ten-Timer and the others were discussing the Gene-Seed of various Legions.
The players who had logged off due to being sacrificed were currently chatting up a storm in the Warhammer Toilers Group.
