Background

Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi’s only daughter and the sheltered princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Chen Xin and Gu Rong dote on her as their granddaughter figures, while her upbringing gives her considerable confidence in the sect’s status and protection 10 54.

While traveling to Shrek Academy, she is surrounded by armed men who disregard her sect identity and attempt to kill her. She summons the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to prove who she is, but Liu Yi ultimately saves her by killing the attackers. Terrified by his ruthlessness, she nevertheless answers his question about traveling to Shrek and follows his instruction to leave 10.

At Shrek Academy, Rongrong initially retains her spoiled, confrontational attitude. She openly challenges Dai Mubai’s authority and invokes her status as sect princess, only to be struck aside during their confrontation. Liu Yi comforts her afterward and promises to seek justice for her 16.

Rongrong begins as proud, spoiled, and accustomed to special treatment. Her position as the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s princess makes her dismissive of Dai Mubai and unwilling to accept Shrek Academy’s rules without argument 16.

She becomes markedly more considerate after growing close to Liu Yi. She learns to make pastries for him despite repeated failures, cleans his room, worries about his rest, and remains at his side during his dangerous absorption of the God-Given Soul Ring 34 37 74.

Her attachment to Liu Yi develops into fierce devotion. Relationship with Liu Yi

She begins pursuing closeness with Liu Yi by baking pastries for him and asking to call him “Brother.” Her feelings become explicit when she tells Chen Xin that she likes one of Shrek’s teachers, leading to distress over an arranged marriage 34 35 38.

Tournament and Sect Affairs

Rongrong remains concerned for Liu Yi during his absorption of the God-Given Soul Ring and stays behind with Chen Xin to watch over him. Liu Yi later enters the Pan-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament intending to secure the Wisdom Head Soul Bone for her 74 80.

After Ning Fengzhi relinquishes his position, Rongrong inherits leadership of the sect. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect is renamed the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect in recognition of her evolved Martial Soul 194.

Liu Yi’s Disappearance and Future Tragedy

When Liu Yi returns after months away, Rongrong is weakened from refusing food and neglecting cultivation while worrying over him 145.

A future set one hundred years later shows an injured Rongrong dying in Liu Yi’s arms after he rescues her and their daughter, Liu Ying, from Evil Soul Masters. Liu Yi later vows to prevent this future from occurring 199.
