Although Angela had forgotten all about Arale and Quinn in her enthusiasm for battle, the carefree Arale never actually realized that her shameless brother and sister had tricked her. Instead, after their game of "hide-and-seek" ended, she cheerfully praised Angela for being so good at hiding.
That only made Angela feel even more embarrassed...
As for Quinn, the stupid dog seemed to have noticed something, but Kraft managed to fool him with a little food. The silly dog was as easy to handle as ever.
Although fooling Arale had been easy this time, Kraft felt that carrying on like this was no solution.
Arale was an energetic little troublemaker. As long as her internal energy supply lasted, she could play all day without getting tired. Even though they had told her to be careful about how much force she used, her heedless personality meant that those warnings did little to restrain her.
Since leaving Earth, the Crossbone Vanguard had already undergone six major overhauls, while minor repairs like patching holes in walls and cracks in floors were too numerous to count. And that was with Arale not using her original body and Angela keeping her in check.
Even so, she had greatly slowed the Crossbone Vanguard's progress.
But Kraft could not quite bring himself to refuse to recharge Arale after she ran out of energy, and Angela probably would not agree to it either.
So, after a long period of thought, Kraft deliberately set aside his work and used a full-dive virtual reality gaming terminal called the NERvGear from one of his dreams as a basis to create a world where Arale could play to her heart's content.
Angela and the Harrows took on the roles of the game's NPCs and the like. It was only a matter of preparing
