After finding a suitable asteroid, Kraft finalized the modification plans, then left a swarm of Harrows and construction machinery on it. He took Arale and Quinn aboard the Crossbone Vanguard and continued roaming through space.
Since he had used a portal gun to establish a passage between the Crossbone Vanguard and the asteroid, Angela could connect to the computers installed there at any time and keep Kraft informed of the construction progress.
If anything unusual happened, Kraft could also return to the asteroid through the portal at any time to deal with it.
After drifting for a while longer, Kraft and the others encountered a spacecraft piloted by other life-forms in the universe-or, more precisely, four spacecraft.
Although these four ships were not as enormous as the Crossbone Vanguard, their flagship was about two-thirds its size, and the other three escort ships were only somewhat smaller than the flagship.
Their designs also looked rather crude. They did not seem to belong to a regular military and were probably some sort of private fleet.
Wanting to learn about interstellar society, Kraft stopped Angela, his little sister who had gotten hooked on playing pirate, from attacking right away. Instead, he sent the other side a friendly message. Unfortunately, their response was not nearly as friendly. They ignored Kraft's goodwill and attacked the Crossbone Vanguard outright...
Then they were routed by the Crossbone Vanguard under Angela's control and its motley fleet of drones. Arale also participated in this space battle, but the ship she controlled was shot down less than two minutes after launching.
So Arale simply used the flight equipment Kraft had installed inside her to rampage through space, destroying countless fighters on both sides. She certainly had a great time.
After taking these people prisoner, Kraft learned that they were actually
