Under the Mind Stone's suppression, Martin Lee had voluntarily entered the Energy Cage. Now that the Mind Stone was no longer suppressing him, Negative's mind had gained the upper hand again, and he began making a racket inside the cage.
But Kraft's Energy Cage was hardly easy to break out of. Aside from Arale, who defied all the rules, even Angela's Mechanical Duplicate would have to put in some effort to escape.

He glanced apprehensively at Martin Lee inside the cage. If, as Kraft had said, a malfunction in the mechanical tentacles' neural system really would alter his personality, then Martin Lee's current state was a glimpse of his own future.
And Doctor Otto's situation would be different from Martin Lee's. Martin had been corrupted by negative energy. Once that side effect was eliminated, he could still recover.
