"Mr. Stark, your package is at Stark Tower."
Tony Stark, who was flipping through Playboy in his villa, selecting his companion for the night, was interrupted by the artificial intelligence Jarvis.
"My package? Why didn't they deliver it to my home?"
Stark, whose "selection process" had been interrupted, complained unhappily.
"'This is for Happy, just send it directly to the company,' those were your exact words."
Jarvis replied dutifully.
"A gift for Happy?"
Stark tried to recall but found no relevant memory.
"When did I ever buy him a gift? I never give gifts to men!"
Jarvis remained silent but instead projected a video of Kraft in front of Tony Stark, along with Stark's own message below the video.
"Oh! I remember now!"
Stark laughed heartily, tossed Playboy aside, and shouted at Jarvis, "Get my car ready, I'm heading to the company now! And contact Happy, tell him his vacation is over and to hurry to Stark Tower!"
Driving his sports car recklessly to Stark Tower, Happy was already waiting at the entrance.
"Tony, what happened? You actually came to the company on your own initiative!"
He tossed the car keys Stark handed him to the doorman, telling him to handle the parking and any traffic violations. Happy then sidled up to Stark, asking curiously.
"Oh, it's nothing major."
Stark chuckled and led Happy into his office, which he barely ever used. Two large boxes were already placed inside.
"Happy, come check out the gift I bought for you!"
Stark patted one of the boxes, happily saying to his bodyguard.
"Oh, no, Tony, I don't think I need this..."
Due to the media frenzy, Happy already knew what the so-called gift was and was very resistant to it.
The kid who came up with this invention must be a devil sent from hell!
And Tony, he must have been bewitched by the devil too!
"Are you sure?" Tony Stark stared at his bodyguard's round belly and said witheringly, "With your current physique, if you didn't mention it beforehand, people would think you're my chef, not my bodyguard. If I ever get into danger, will you still have the strength to protect me? You look like you'd need to catch your breath after just two steps."
"Of course, there's no problem!"
Happy became very agitated, his professional capabilities questioned by his employer.
"My physique won't affect my combat skills!"
"I have my doubts about that, Happy."
Stark spread his hands, shaking his head.
"Think about your physique when you first joined, and then look at yourself now. You can't even see your toes when you look down!"
"...Maybe I really do need these things..."
Happy lowered his head. Although he could still see his toes, the situation was indeed dire. He thought about it and realized he had indeed become too complacent over the years.
"Alright, Tony, I'll accept this gift."
Happy slumped his shoulders in despair, already envisioning his miserable future.
Goodbye, my beloved hot dogs...
And burgers, cola, fried chicken, popcorn, burritos...
"Fantastic!"
Stark clapped his hands and pulled the melancholic Happy over to the Go-for-broke Treadmill.
"Quick, you try this first, let me see how it works!"
"You've been possessed by the devil, Tony!"
Kraft, of course, was unaware that a certain billionaire's bodyguard was in dire straits because of his own invention. He and Fatty Liao were currently taking advantage of the weekend to deliver Martin Lee's ordered Go-for-broke Treadmill Sets to the FEAST Homeless Shelter.
"Kraft, long time no see, you've become quite famous recently."
As soon as they entered the shelter, a middle-aged woman who looked rather old came forward, patted his head, and praised him.
"Hello, Aunt May."
"Hello, Aunt May."
Kraft and Fatty Liao greeted Aunt May obediently.
May Riley Parker, a long-time volunteer at the FEAST Homeless Shelter, was one of the few Caucasians Kraft looked upon favorably. People like her, with kind hearts, deserved respect regardless of their skin color.
After exchanging pleasantries with Aunt May, Fatty Liao directed the delivery workers to place the treadmill sets in a prominent location within the shelter. Given the homeless people's inconsistent eating habits, they wouldn't be able to use Kraft's treadmill sets.
However, Martin Lee had said that this would attract people interested in the treadmill sets to visit and try them out. The shelter could then charge a fee and use the opportunity to promote the shelter's mission, thereby soliciting donations.
Kraft wasn't sure if Martin's plan would actually work, but he had no interest in helping the homeless. When he was homeless with Martin, no one had ever helped him.
However, according to Martin, he wasn't building this shelter purely out of kindness...
Kraft scratched his head.
Adult life is so complicated.
Just then, a bespectacled, dopey-looking guy walked out of a room in the corner.
"Aunt May, is there anything else you need my help with?"
He immediately saw the workers fiddling with the Go-for-broke Treadmill Set and Kraft talking to Aunt May, his face lighting up with excitement.
"Kraft!"
Peter Parker ran up to Kraft in three strides, grabbing his arm and shaking it.
"I heard Mr. Stark took an interest in your invention, that's so enviable!"
"What's so enviable about it? I just sold him something."
Shaking Peter's hand off with disdain, Kraft pouted and looked down at the guy who was four or five years older than him.
Although Peter Parker was Aunt May's nephew and often came to help at the shelter, Kraft didn't really like him. He didn't hate him either, but he mostly couldn't stand Peter Parker's usual submissive demeanor.
"But, doesn't this mean you might get to talk to Mr. Stark?"
Peter's thoughts were the same as Fatty Liao's earlier, but Kraft didn't want to explain it again. Moreover, instead of patiently explaining, Kraft was more likely to diss Peter.
"Even if I get to talk to him, that's my business. Why are you so excited? Besides, even if you could talk to Stark, could you even open your mouth? You stutter when you talk to Mary."
"That... that's different!"
Peter Parker's face turned red, and he stammered, trying to argue but not knowing what to say.
Kraft dissing Peter was practically a regular event at the shelter. When people around heard it, they burst into laughter. Even Aunt May watched the show with a smile.
She wasn't very satisfied with Peter's timid personality, so she was happy to see Kraft provoke Peter. Maybe her nephew would change because of it?
Unfortunately, Peter Parker disappointed her. After a few stammered excuses, Peter made an excuse and slipped away.
"Sigh..."
Aunt May sighed with some disappointment. She didn't blame Peter. Losing his parents and coming from a poor family, it was normal for Peter to feel insecure. But looking at the little guy, Kraft, Aunt May suddenly understood what he meant by "other people's children."
Seeing Peter back down and run away again, Kraft spread his hands to Aunt May and shook his head helplessly. He could only help Aunt May this much.
No matter how much he disliked people of other skin colors, Kraft, who was already fourteen, wouldn't casually mock others for no reason. Not to mention the relationship with Aunt May, he sensed Aunt May's distress, so he would often help her by provoking this blockhead, Peter Parker.
Of course, bullying a senior student who was several years older than him also gave Kraft a sense of accomplishment.
It was the same for the others in the shelter. They were all egging him on to provoke Peter together. Kraft didn't have as good a relationship with the people in the shelter as Peter did. Most of the staff here were volunteers who came to help spontaneously, and they wouldn't favor him just because he was Martin Lee's adopted son.
"Thank you, sweetie."
Aunt May stepped forward and hugged Kraft. She truly loved this somewhat prejudiced but very sensible child. Martin Lee had been quick to adopt him; otherwise, she would have wanted to take Kraft home.
"You shouldn't continue being a bad guy. Peter's personality is already set, and this level of provocation won't change him."
Patting Kraft's small head, Aunt May said with some relief. After trying a few times without success, she felt sorry for her nephew and decided to let him be. After all, he was just a bit timid, which wasn't a big deal.
"Oh, no," Kraft said cheerfully, "It's rare to have a legitimate reason to bully Peter, I'm happy about it."
"You rascal! Do whatever you want..."
Aunt May gave Kraft a playful glare, then added, "Don't bully him too hard. Your brother Peter can't handle much."
"O~kay~"
Kraft stretched out his voice and agreed reluctantly.
After chatting with Aunt May for a while longer, Kraft left with Fatty Liao. The work at the shelter was quite busy, and he didn't want to help. Plus, new experiments awaited him, so it was better to leave early.
Martin Lee's prediction was accurate. Due to Kraft's production capacity, the FEAST Homeless Shelter managed to catch the tail end of the trend. The Go-for-broke Treadmill Set indeed brought a lot of traffic, resulting in several valuable donations. Financial aid was secondary; the main thing was job opportunities offered by some bosses, which was quite rare.
However, the trend itself lacked a solid foundation, so it came and went quickly, and Kraft's ears were finally quiet for a while.
Unfortunately, before he could enjoy two days of peace, Tony Stark stirred up trouble for him again.
