Background

Mei was once Chiyou Academy's celebrated “Queen Raiden”: the daughter of ME Corp president Raiden Ryoma, raised with elite education and admired for her talent, status, and appearance. Her former social circle abandoned her after Ryoma was accused of financial fraud and imprisoned, leaving her isolated and subjected to persistent bullying. 2

Ryoma had actually diverted ME Corp funds to develop anti-@@REF_ENTITY_3118986@@ weaponry intended to save Mei from her future as a Herrscher. Cocolia exploited this effort to frame him, while using Mei's despair as part of a plan to trigger the Third Honkai Eruption. 12 13

Mei's Stigmata had awakened when she was young and endangered her health. The Conquest Gem implanted during Project Mei suppressed it, but her Stigmata consciousness infiltrated the Gem rather than disappearing; this consciousness later became the Queen Raiden associated with the Herrscher of Thunder. 12 18

Appearance

Mei is a purple-haired girl with light-purple eyes. At Chiyou Academy, she wears her long hair in a ponytail tied with a purple-spotted ribbon and dresses in a black sailor uniform with long socks. 2

Personality

Mei was initially gentle, conservative, and strictly raised, but her father's downfall and the collapse of her friendships left her exhausted, fearful, and emotionally fragile. Despite this, she remains fundamentally kind-hearted and is far more disturbed by attacks on Bai Ge and Kiana than by cruelty directed at herself. 6 14 15

Her desire to protect the people she loves is the source of both her resolve and her power. After gaining strength, Mei becomes more self-assured and assertive, while retaining her appreciation for peaceful daily life, cooking, and time with Bai Ge. 16 19 615

Mei ultimately recognizes that her gentler “housewife” side developed as protection after her trauma, while her original nature is that of a confident, domineering queen. She accepts both sides of herself rather than treating either as false. 774

After the Raiden family's fall, Mei becomes a target for the classmates who once flattered her. Bai Ge intervenes against the bullying and publicly calls her his girlfriend, while Kiana becomes her first genuine school friend. 3 6 7

Third Honkai Eruption

Cocolia's campaign of manipulation culminates in Mei's kidnapping and the destruction of Bai Ge's earphones. Mei awakens the Queen Raiden consciousness to protect Bai Ge and Kiana, but the Queen initially regards humanity as her enemy. 15 16

Bai Ge's refusal to reject either Mei or the Queen causes the awakened consciousness to yield control and abandon the immediate eruption. Learning to Wield Herrscher Power
