Background

Mobius was born exceptionally precocious, able to speak and reason from birth. Her mother died giving birth to her, leaving her to be raised by her father, a once-kind doctor and pharmacist. After contracting incurable Honkai Disease, he became physically and mentally deteriorated, violent, and abusive toward her. 260 520

On her ninth birthday, Mobius resolved that humanity must evolve beyond disease, pain, frailty, and mortality. She rejected the idea of becoming like her father and left home to pursue that ideal. 261

During a later birthday encounter, Bai Ge stopped her father from striking her, cured his Honkai Disease, punished him for his abuse, and gave Mobius a birthday cake and a snake plush. Mobius disowned her father, accepted Bai Ge's invitation to leave with him, and was sent to Mu Continent to continue her studies. 521 522

She eventually became Moth Chasing Fire's foremost biologist. Her laboratory developed a notorious reputation: personnel feared entering because of her experiments and the possibility of not returning intact. 257

Mobius is intensely intelligent, arrogant, curious, and driven by an uncompromising belief that humanity must evolve. She considers the human body a flawed burden and values the will as the true proof of humanity. Her ideal body would not age, become sick, tire, or fail. 271

Her scientific ethics are inconsistent but not wholly absent. She tells Bai Ge that her subjects are Dead Soldiers, Honkai Beasts, Herrschers, or volunteers, and that she is especially lenient with children. However, when confronted with the possibility that Bai Ge embodies the “infinity” she seeks, she admits she would abandon her principles and restrain him for research without his consent. 259 271

Despite her ruthless methods, Mobius becomes deeply protective of the few people she accepts as her own. Bai Ge and Klein are described as the two people most important to her; Klein's selection as a Herrscher of the Thousand reignites Mobius's hatred of Honkai. 423

Meeting Bai Ge and the Herrscher of the Void Research

Mobius meets Bai Ge and Elysia after they deliver the Herrscher of the Void's corpse to Moth Chasing Fire. She immediately becomes interested in Bai Ge's blood, but he refuses to let her study it because of his aversion to human experimentation. 257 259

Unable to secure official permission, Mobius steals the Herrscher of the Void's remains and studies them in secret. Bai Ge discovers her, prevents her from recklessly absorbing the Herrscher Core, and helps conceal the theft from Moth Chasing Fire soldiers. Fusion Warrior Project

After Bai Ge falsely attributes his power to Mobius's Fusion Warrior Project, Moth Chasing Fire approves the project and permits her to begin fusion experiments. Bai Ge supports the project to improve subject survival rates, despite his continuing discomfort with human experimentation. 281 282

Mobius performs Bai Ge's fusion surgery, then undergoes her own surgery using Shesha's genes. Her successful transformation makes her a Fusion Warrior and shifts the balance of power in her rivalry with Elysia. 286 287 288

Chimera Research

Mobius and Mei later help develop the Chimera Project, preparing tens of thousands of Honkai Beast consciousnesses and using the Feather of the Wind to protect the subjects' minds. Their work enables Bai Ge and Kevin to undergo Chimera transformation. 442 445
