Background

Nuwa and her elder sister Fuxi cultivated together in seclusion after taking form and initially knew little of the outside Primordial World. When Chu Feng first encountered them, the sisters were quarreling over an Immortal Fruit; Nuwa won the race to pluck it, only for Fuxi to trick her and take it away. 10

Chu Feng mediated their dispute with Spiritual Fruits and spent one hundred years discussing the Dao with them. Nuwa welcomed his friendship and later invited him to call her “Xiao Wa.” 10 24

As the first male being Nuwa had met, Chu Feng became the object of her early affection. When Fuxi proposed betrothing Nuwa to him, Nuwa expected his acceptance; his refusal distressed her until he revealed his knowledge of the calamities awaiting Fuxi and Nuwa. 25 Learning that Fuxi might die in the Witch-Demon Calamity, Nuwa briefly considered abandoning the creation of humanity altogether rather than lose her sister. 25

Appearance

Nuwa is a peerlessly beautiful woman whose presence is repeatedly described as sacred, graceful, and gentle. Her aura is closely associated with creation and life. 24 81 102

  • Initially appeared in a plain skirt. 10
  • Later appeared in colorful robes, with a sacred countenance and peerless grace. 102
  • Her cultivation manifests as a dense aura of creation, auspicious light, and multicolored divine radiance. 27 90 227
  • When descending in her true form, she is surrounded by Chaos Pure Qi and oppressive divine might. 252

Personality

Nuwa is deeply devoted to Fuxi. The prospect of Fuxi's predestined death moved her to reject the role of humanity's creator until Chu Feng promised a way to protect her sister. 25 This protectiveness later extends to her alternate-timeline counterparts, whose suffering strengthens her resolve to pursue the Great Dao and prevent similar tragedies. 112 113

Although gentle and hospitable toward allies, Nuwa is resolute when defending her authority and the Human Race. She immediately suppressed Laozi's attempt to establish the Human Religion without her consent, then founded it herself through an oath to the Great Dao. 84 She also refused to let the Western Religion manipulate her into intervening rashly during the Investiture of the Gods Calamity. 251

Nuwa does not regard humanity as property despite being its creator. When informed that some humans were being drawn to the West, she stated that they possessed their own choices, destinies, and fortunes. 108
