The Terra's Glory, commanded by Dyckley, arrived in the Cenus system and successfully rejoined the main fleet.
News of the return of One and Six spread through the expeditionary fleet, causing a stir.
The warriors of the First Legion and the Sixth Legion were particularly excited.
They had always envied the Sixteenth Legion and the Twelfth Legion for welcoming back their Primarchs so early.
Those two legions even showed off about it.
Even more hateful were those two new recruits named Kharn and Abaddon.
They would praise their own Primarch to anyone who would listen.
They were practically advertising their Primarch's name on their foreheads as they swaggered around.
Now that their own Primarch had returned.
They naturally couldn't wait to welcome him back with fanfare.
They would grandly show off to the legions that had not yet welcomed back their Primarchs.
They would defiantly tell the arrogant Sixteenth and Twelfth Legions.
With hands on their hips and chests puffed out, they would loudly declare.
"Little brothers, Primarchs? Who doesn't have one?"
The two who were brought back were immediately arranged to meet the Emperor and their other Primarch brothers.
The meeting was arranged in a luxurious restaurant.
Russ sat hunched over the dining table.
He paid no attention to the exquisite tableware placed before him.
He held meat in one hand and wine in the other.
He wolfed down the meat and guzzled the wine without any regard for etiquette.
He would occasionally let out a burp and sometimes laugh heartily.
Lion El'Jonson, sitting next to him, had a dark expression.
He was barely suppressing his anger towards the Fenrisian Husky.
He sat upright in his seat, dining with the composure and elegance of a noble knight.
Angron and Horus arrived at the meeting hall before the Emperor.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, my brothers. I am Horus, Father's first son to return, and Father's most beloved and trusted son."
Horus walked in and was the first to greet the two Primarchs.
"So, you're the boss?"
Russ sized up Horus from head to toe.
His gaze was as aggressive as a wolf's, as if appraising prey.
"The word 'boss' is perhaps not quite fitting. You could say I am the favored son, or your elder brother," Horus said.
"I am One," Lion El'Jonson interrupted Horus.
Horus looked at Lion El'Jonson, his brow furrowing slightly.
A hint of jealousy surged within him.
He was the first to return to their Father's side.
Why was it this guy who bore the title of the First Primarch?
The First Legion, the First Primarch.
The word "First" always conjured up many associations.
Even if, in the future, they Primarchs became legendary heroes and demigods sung by the Imperium, When the bards sang their praises, this guy's name would be the first to be mentioned.
I was here first.
I am clearly Father's most outstanding and reliable son.
Horus said, "You were merely fortunate to be ranked first. We were created simultaneously, with no distinction of precedence."
"I am the eldest son," Lion El'Jonson repeated. "I am One."
"That is not so. I am the first to return, and Father's most relied-upon son, therefore I am the eldest son,"
Horus explained patiently.
"I am One," Lion El'Jonson repeated the words that made Horus's composure crack.
"I have no intention of arguing with you. Let our deeds and honor speak for themselves," Horus said, suppressing his inner agitation.
"I will prove that I am the eldest son," Lion El'Jonson retorted without yielding.
The atmosphere between the two immediately became tense.
It seemed like they were about to get into a fight over the slightest disagreement.
"Oye, my beloved Primarchs, your Second Father is here."
A strange voice rang out.
"Waldo, have the attendants bring some fries and ketchup, the new flavor that's 'invincible devil spicy' with a creamy texture."
The four Primarchs turned towards the voice and saw the Emperor approaching, surrounded by his honor guard.
Waldo was among them.
A Raven stood on his shoulder.
It was scratching his golden helmet with its talons.
"Father."
"Father."
Horus and Angron saluted the Emperor.
Lion and Russ also stood up and followed suit, saluting the Emperor.
"No need for formalities, First and Sixth, it's good to have you back," the Emperor said kindly.
The Raven on Waldo's shoulder flapped its wings and flew to the Emperor's shoulder.
"Husky, Meow King, it's good to see you. I am your Second Father."
"If you don't mind, we can enjoy some delicious fries and ketchup together."
Angron and Horus saw the Raven and their expressions remained unchanged, showing no surprise.
The moment they saw the Raven, memories related to it surfaced silently in their minds.
It made them subconsciously feel that the Raven's presence there was completely normal.
Russ and Lion's eyes widened, their faces showing astonishment.
They had seen many strange and peculiar things.
But a talking Raven was something they had never encountered before.
The Emperor introduced the Raven's identity to the two recently returned Primarchs.
"This is Mr. Raven, another supreme leader of the Imperium. One of the heads of the Imperium's Double-headed Eagle represents Mr. Raven."
"I overheard you discussing the eldest son," the Raven said. "You all needn't trouble yourselves with such matters. Whoever obtains the universe's most delicious ketchup and fries..."
"...will be the Big Guy's eldest son, and even the future Marshal of the Imperium, Grand Marshal, and Regent."
Waldo: "..."
Horus: "..."
Angron: "..."
Russ's eyes also widened.
Is this Human Empire truly a legitimate organization?!
What kind of organization considers collecting the most delicious fries and ketchup as the primary criterion for selecting a Marshal, Grand Marshal, or Regent?!
The Emperor smiled, unbothered by the Raven's usual chuunibyou tendencies.
Anyone who had experienced power struggles would understand how good and hassle-free an ally like the Raven was.
It didn't want power, money, or fame, only delicious ketchup and fries.
The Raven said, "How can a Primarch who is unwilling to seek out the delicious fries and ketchup that the populace enjoys lead the citizens of the Imperium to happiness?"
"The citizens of the Imperium are what we have sworn to protect, not tools for achieving our accomplishments. If the citizens of the Imperium cannot find happiness, then what is the use of any great achievements we may establish?"
"Allowing a Primarch who cannot empathize with the common people to hold important positions in the Imperium would be a terrifying prospect. It would not bring happiness to the people, but rather a terrible disaster."
The Raven's words caused the four Primarchs to ponder.
"You're trying to fool them again," the Emperor communicated via thought.
"I am conducting ideological work for the Primarchs, guiding them to establish a healthy sense of right and wrong. What do you mean by 'fooling,' Big Guy?" the Raven shouted back via thought. "You are slandering me, nakedly slandering me."
"Big Guy, given your slander, if you don't order the cultivation of several new varieties of potatoes and tomatoes, the Raven will break off relations with you. If that happens, you will completely lose me as a friend."
The Emperor: "..."
The Emperor and the four Primarchs engaged in a heart-to-heart talk, discussing the future of the Human Imperium and the great powers they possessed.
Afterward, he reiterated to Lion and Russ what he had previously told Horus and Angron.
He gave them two choices: one was to live as ordinary people within the Imperium, and the other was to undergo a trial.
Only by passing the trial would they be qualified to enter their respective Legions.
Lion and Russ made the same choice: to accept the trial.
They were also eager to venture into the stars and leave their own stories in this magnificent era.
Considering that a long journey through the Warp was about to commence.
The Emperor and the Raven conferred, deciding to use this time to travel to other universes.
"We should go back and check on the Super God Universe."
The Emperor recalled the first universe he had traversed.
Before he left, the many civilizations in that universe had already made a move on Earth.
Although he had left behind an adapted version of the Gene Engine, considering the power of those civilizations, he was still somewhat worried.
Now that he had some free time, he would travel there to see.
If everything was well, he would hide in the shadows, pushing civilization forward and making some arrangements.
Once the Human Empire possessed inter-universal technology and established channels across the Heavens, he would absorb them into the Imperium.
If things were not right, he would step into the open and try to salvage the situation.
