The Adventurer's Guild Is Established!

"The knights are ready, Your Highness!" Omsk said respectfully, thumping his chest with a fist.

"And the people?" Roland asked. Behind the Knight Order, he saw a dark mass of commoners carrying bundles and bags, following in the knights' wake. Quite a few ox carts and horse-drawn carriages had gathered as well; evidently, these were some of the better-off civilians.

"Why are there light infantry among them?" Roland immediately spotted the poorly equipped light infantry. Some wore leather armor, some chainmail; their weapons ranged from shortswords to spears. They looked even shabbier than Dale's soldiers, which displeased Roland. His kingdom might not have been rolling in wealth, but it could at least afford proper equipment.

"Yun Feng..." Roland instinctively began looking for his workhorse.

"Ahem, Your Highness, those are Pioneer Adventurers..." Omsk coughed and quietly explained to Roland.

"..." Roland froze. He had not expected the kingdom to produce adventurers so quickly.

"Pioneering always comes with bloodshed and endless wealth. Many will risk everything for a title of nobility! Any commoner in the city with the ability, means, and ambition will be willing to gamble on a future!" Omsk looked at Roland calmly. After all, this was a path for class advancement, and the easiest one at that.

"That wilderness has never been developed. People will die there..." Roland said meaningfully. After all, those heading to Lulong Fortress had all been soldiers. Armies were formed precisely to confront danger, so the various threats there posed little danger to them. But for civilians planning to settle there in the future, it was clearly far from friendly.

"For adventurers, death has always been their companion!" Omsk smiled.

"I hope their group will be bound and protected by laws," Roland nodded.

"You needn't worry. The Adventurer's Guild was established long ago!" Omsk smiled
