| Sixth Tier Sage | 96 | Yun Feng states that his advancement to the sixth tier came “by chance.” He joins Roland’s service already holding this rank. |
Background / History
Yun Feng arrived in Flowing City seeking allegiance with Roland. Though he modestly called himself “just an ordinary Alchemist,” he identified his real strengths as potion refinement and magic-equipment crafting rather than conventional combat. Roland recruited him to aid the restoration of Lagrange, and Yun Feng accepted after being granted authority over the neglected Magic Plantation. 96
The plantation immediately became Yun Feng’s home and working base. Outraged by its abandoned, magic-rich soil, he built himself a thatched hut, chose to live on-site, and began cultivating plants and refining potions. 96 He later acquired a ring containing most alchemical knowledge and more than a hundred Forbidden Spell alchemy-scroll formulas, greatly expanding the kingdom’s technical foundation. 121
As Lagrange grew, Yun Feng’s responsibilities expanded far beyond alchemy. He managed equipment production, military stores, recruitment logistics, administrative documents, currency oversight, diplomacy, and strategic planning. His workload repeatedly drove him into open conflict with Roland, but he continued serving the kingdom as its indispensable administrator. 217 331 394 816
Appearance
Yun Feng is described as a scholarly-looking Sage with an ethereal aura, usually dressed in a simple but elegant mage robe. 618
- Scholarly face and sword-like eyebrows. 114
- Carries himself with the refined manner expected of a Sage, even when visibly exhausted or angry. 114 396
- Possesses unexpectedly formidable physical speed; Roland compares one of his bursts of movement to that of a Great Knight. 96
Personality
Yun Feng is intensely proud of his knowledge, craftsmanship, and professional standards. He treats neglected magic plants, mishandled supplies, and wasted alchemical materials as personal offenses. His fascination with research is genuine; access to rare formulas, ores, plants, or artifacts can immediately capture his attention. 96 121 473
Despite claiming to be unsuited for battle, he is deeply protective of Lagrange and willing to fight when the kingdom is threatened. He accepted responsibility for Flowing City’s defense, helped confront Ringwraiths, and opposed Queen Nyx’s course when he believed it endangered the kingdom’s stability. 217 549 612
His relationship with Roland is defined by loyalty, sarcasm, and accumulated frustration. Yun Feng repeatedly resents being treated as a tireless workhorse, yet he remains the ruler’s most trusted problem-solver. 378 458 929
Abilities & Skills
Sixth Tier Sage
Yun Feng is a Sixth Tier Mental-Element Sage. Although he considers direct combat outside an Alchemist’s usual specialty, his soul-based magic makes him exceptionally dangerous in individual confrontations. 96 618 549
- Can contend with Sixth Tier opponents at the soul level; his duel with the Ringwraith Uwasa injured both combatants. 549
- His mental power is capable of affecting void and spatial phenomena, making it a threat even to Ringwraiths who wield spatial power. 549
- Can use telepathic communication with sufficiently strong mental power. 471
- His mental strength allows long-term surveillance of Flowing City and its surrounding territory alongside Adolf Heinrich. 630
- Soul-level combat remains dangerous: Uwasa injured Yun Feng’s soul, and Yun Feng was later unable to overcome Wes’s Great Dragon soul contract. 549 726
Soul Magic
Yun Feng’s magic specializes in mental and soul-based effects rather than elemental destruction.
- Palm Seal Universe — A powerful sealing technique that manifested as a six-pointed star array and completely sealed the power of a Dragon of the Elves. 114
- Soul Seeking Lock — Releases vast spiritual power to search for targets, including those hidden underground. 189
- Soul Shockwave — A soul attack powerful enough to tear open a massive section of ground while pursuing a fallen Silver Dragon. 189
- Spirit Grasp — Forms a magical hand to seize a located target. 189
- Mental Barrier — In Yun Feng’s hands, even this basic Mage skill can resist spatial destruction on a scale comparable to a Forbidden Spell. 558
- Can casually restrain a Sixth Tier Hero such as Omsk with a mental barrier. 514
Spatial and Illusory Arts
Yun Feng possesses limited but highly useful spatial and mental-realm techniques.
- Can open spatial rifts and emerge from the void through short-range spatial movement. 396 502
- Worked with Eowyn to enter a void space and investigate the Spatial Displacement Curse Source. 503
- Required Eowyn’s spatial Battle Qi to move safely through dimensional turbulence. 503
- Illusion Replay — Projects a virtual realm directly into another person’s mind, recreating historical scenes through mental power and temporal techniques. 631
- Used Illusion Replay to show Omsk the War of Nation Founding and the destructive potential of an elf-guarded War Tree. 631
Alchemy and Potion Refinement
Yun Feng is among the kingdom’s foremost alchemists. He can refine nearly all potions of Epic grade and below, provided he has the necessary materials. 96
- Can create rare potions, including Resurrection Potions. 97
- Produced Timeflow Sand Potion, an Excellent-grade potion that speeds up or slows down the user’s time flow by half for thirty seconds. 143
- Uses the Magic Plantation to cultivate ingredients personally rather than relying solely on external supply. 96
- Can analyze valuable monster materials, such as Balrog Hearts, for use in high-grade equipment. 194
- Cannot currently create potions capable of healing soul or origin damage due to the kingdom’s limited conditions. 683
Magic Equipment Crafting and Arrays
Yun Feng can craft magic equipment below Epic grade when supplied with sufficient raw materials. 96
- Created an Epic-grade staff, the Scepter of the Silent Sea, despite previously describing his general crafting capability as below Epic grade. 144
- Crafted enchanted weapons, armor, griffon saddles, Sky Knight lances, aerial javelins, and other military equipment. 333 394
- Uses Star Silver Steel and the Lava Forge to shape armor with Mage Hand and magic arrays. A single breastplate required an entire morning of work. 699
- Designed defensive, offensive, and energy-gathering arrays around the Magic Plantation and Monster Chicken Farm, making the site one of Lagrange’s most defensible locations. 394
- Can create large-capacity storage equipment for transporting grain and military goods. 698
- Can cast a complete Forbidden Spell with external artifacts due to his understanding of elemental power. 146
Governance and Strategy
Yun Feng’s value to Lagrange extends to finance, military organization, and state administration.
- Managed expedition supplies, equipment maintenance, and warehouse standards before the Moria campaign. 217
- Suggested relocating two hundred farming households to cultivate land south of Flowing City and personally escorted settlers toward Tupte Forest. 309
- Offered to supervise the minting and circulation of Lagrange currency to prevent debasement. 331
- Proposed borrowing Beorning troops for Old Pass while having the Junlin family train Valiant Warriors for a permanent solution. 514
- Recommended warning other kingdoms about Grave Corpse Demons and the plague threat. 518
- Recognized the political value of recruiting Grassland Elves through Valfay’s influence. 631
- Planned to trade Excellent Knight Equipment for grain during Gondor’s autumn harvest, using large-capacity storage equipment for transport. 698
- Directed western defense plans as Prime Minister, including using Sky Knights for supply and ordering Ismir to bluff possible Orc incursions. 968
Equipment / Resources
- Magic Plantation — Yun Feng’s assigned cultivation site, residence, and primary source of alchemical ingredients. 96
- Alchemy Workshop — A complex of workshops and storage buildings containing potions, equipment, and ongoing experiments. 143
- Goblin Alchemy Knowledge Ring — Contains most alchemical knowledge and over a hundred Forbidden Spell scroll-production methods. 121
- Staff — Used to cast Illusion Replay and construct mental virtual realms. 631
Relationships

- Omsk — Military colleague who regularly seeks Yun Feng’s strategic advice. Yun Feng has also used Omsk as the subject of mental barriers and Illusion Replay demonstrations. 514 631
- Adolf Heinrich — Fellow Sage. The two cooperate on magical investigations, discuss imperial history, and attempted to remove Wes’s Ringwraith ability. 618 726

- Valfay — Elf ally and fellow Sixth Tier combatant. Yun Feng rescued him from void turbulence during their attempt to intercept a Ringwraith. 548
- Lance — Administrative subordinate and occasional mediator in Yun Feng’s disputes with Roland. 378 699
