Clark did as Diana said: he drank a cup of warm water, went to the bathroom, and then fell straight asleep. When he woke up, he was still a little dizzy and nauseous, but much better than before.

Fortunately, he had been carrying the green gemstone around for the past few days and had already gotten used to this slight discomfort. He took a deep breath, regained his energy, got dressed, and prepared to head downstairs.

Diana was already waiting at the door. The two rode to the laboratory together. Diana looked at Clark and said, "You're really just handing your hair and blood over to the military? Aren't you worried they'll use them to make something strange?"

"Don't worry, I asked Bruce. They can't do much with blood and hair alone."

"Not even cloning?"

"No." Clark shook his head. "Bruce told me that humans still haven't cracked their own genetic code, let alone a Kryptonian's. It can't be done."

"Still, be careful. I know you're not the kind of person who sleeps around, but someone might try to pull something. Don't go alone to any rough places lately, understand?"

Clark roughly understood what Diana meant. He knew what the military was like, too. To get his genes, they would do anything. A honey trap was hardly impossible.

Clark was not too worried. On the one hand, no one could force him; on the other, he felt that his heart already belonged to someone. Once this busy stretch was over, he would find a way to pursue Lois.

Thinking of that, Clark asked, "Do humans and Kryptonians have reproductive isolation?"

"Who do you like?"

Clark was startled. "Can you read minds?"

"Heh, baby. After living this long, would I need mind-reading to deal with you?" Diana brushed back her hair
