As the lingering echo continued to reverberate, the gods and great immortals all turned their gazes toward Surya.
Some were delighted, some doubtful, and some curious, each wearing a different expression.
Surya was dumbfounded and froze on the spot.
Why were they calling for him now? What help could he offer if he went over?
Yet beneath the gazes of all the gods, he still forced himself to remain calm. He puffed out his chest, held his right arm horizontally, and supported a robe of gold, looking every bit as majestic as possible.
"Surya!"
"Golden Bed's boon is that he cannot die by day, cannot die by night, cannot die indoors or outdoors, and cannot die at the hands of humans, gods, demons, or any other living being."
"Now we need you!"
Brahma's voice rang out.
At those words, the gods' eyes sharpened. Now truly was the time they needed Surya.
They pressed their palms together and began chanting praises.
"Praise be to Surya, the Sun God!"
"Praise Surya! Praise the sun!"
Hearing this, Surya raised an eyebrow. The golden light radiating from his divine body grew even more brilliant and blinding, making the surrounding gods quickly turn their heads away.
He smiled.
"Good!"
"Then let me bring sunset to Golden Bed's final moment!"
Surya, the Sun God, threw back his head and laughed, spreading his hands as he spoke slowly.
The next moment, he turned sideways and called out.
"Aruna!"
Snap!
The reins fluttered, the divine horses galloped, and Aruna, the God of Dawn, came racing over in the Sun Chariot, carrying blazing heat with him.
Surya leaped up, landed on the divine chariot, and shot toward the heavens.
Whoosh!
He urged the divine horses onward, flying into the Heavenly Realm at top speed.
