Background

Kunmo Sect

Before becoming known as a high-level demonic cultivator, Xun Kun was Venerable Linlang's final disciple at Kunmo Sect. Jealous disciples once lured him into the sect's forbidden grounds and attempted to use its formations against him. Linlang rescued him, accepted him as her disciple, sealed the culprit's memories, and expelled that disciple from the sect. 387

Xun Kun has a poor sense of direction, a weakness he concealed by traveling in groups whenever he left the sect. As his cultivation and divine sense improved, he became better at hiding the flaw. 387 404

He joined Yunxi, Buddha Son Yunchen, and Han Lian in slaying the Evil Flower of the Baohua Mountain Secret Realm. The event brought acclaim to all four cultivators and formed the basis of Xun Kun's long-standing connection with Yunxi. 338 386

Azure Star

A Spatial Gale threw Xun Kun into Azure Star, shattering his protective Jade Talisman and leaving nearly every bone in his body broken. Daphne Sack found him unconscious in Sack Manor's pool and saved his life. 526 527

He used healing pills, Bone-Mending Pills, and ambient Demonic Qi to recover. In return for the Sack family's aid, he saved Benjamin Sack from a divine soul crisis and agreed to help treat him. 527 528

While staying at Sack Manor, Xun Kun rapidly studied Azure Star's technology, culture, and history. He located Yunxi through the Star Net after recognizing her appearance and natal artifact, then reunited with her as they sought a route back to the Weiyu Realm. 534 535 536

Ascension and the Demon Realm

During the Weiyu Realm's ascension, Xun Kun exhausted a top-grade demonic vein and consumed Yunxi's breakthrough potion. Although the potion gave him enough power to approach Void Refining, he redirected that power into the ascension passage to help pull the entire realm upward. 635 636

His Divine-Demonic Body was identified during the ascension effort. 636 After ascending, he became Xuanyuan Wei's disciple at the Heavenly Demon Palace and began operating in the Demon Realm. 723 726

Liao Ziqian

Xun Kun took Liao Ziqian as his personal disciple after foreseeing that the child could become the Evil God's spare vessel. He had previously marked Ziqian with a strand of Golden Light of Merit and personally sought him out when the child's dark Spiritual Root manifested. 715 716

When Evil Cultivators abducted Ziqian and attempted to contaminate his foundation with Evil Qi, Xun Kun fought beside Yunxi to rescue and treat him. He accepted responsibility for teaching Ziqian carefully while preparing for the possibility that the Evil God's plans could still claim the child. 724 726

After ascending to the God Realm, Xun Kun entered the God Child Realm and claimed a cultivation ground in the Ninth Heaven. He spent his first century consolidating his cultivation and learning God Rank cultivation methods while monitoring Liao Ziqian's Soul Lamp and searching for news of Yunxi. 1402

During the Five Regions Grand Competition, he refused to excuse Jin Can's poor performance or blame Haoran Sect disciples for responding to Kunmo Sect's provocations, while maintaining that cultivators of the Five Regions should unite against Evil Cultivators. 433

Despite his guarded nature, Xun Kun is deeply loyal to Yunxi, Liao Ziqian, and his companions. He repeatedly seeks to strengthen himself so that Yunxi will not have to confront major threats alone. 724 1290
