Background / History

Xiao Teng was publicly known as the third son of King Zhenbei, Xiao He. In reality, Xiao He raised him on behalf of his biological parents: Ge Qixing, Great Xia's Imperial Advisor, and Lou Long, the Palace Mistress of the Goddess Palace. His true parentage was exposed during the crisis at the Goddess Palace. 199 200

Ge Qixing and Lou Long engineered Xiao Teng's destiny as a replacement for the ancient Lord of Stars. They implanted a remnant soul of the Lord of Stars' fortune within him, concealed the Goddess Palace's Yaoguang Immortal Jade in his Spirit Sea, and sought to gather the Seven Stars Origins for him. 108 146

He was betrothed to Xie Jianjia and became determined to protect her after the Xie family's downfall. His efforts to shelter her brought him into direct conflict with Jiang Lan. 101 110 120

Xiao Teng wore armor in battle and wielded a spear. When his Star Body manifested, his body emitted stellar radiance and the sky around him could transform into a star-filled night. 131

Xiao Teng was protective of those he considered his own, particularly Xie Jianjia, his followers, and later Lou Long. He returned to confront Jiang Lan in Qianyuan Mansion despite knowing he was disadvantaged, partly to protect his reputation and partly to prevent Jiang Lan from claiming victory. 101 131

His pride and temper repeatedly led him into reckless confrontations. Jiang Lan's provocations made him increasingly hostile, while setbacks—particularly his defeat by Li Mengning—were difficult for him to accept. 120 131 193

He was also capable of restraint when survival required it. While sheltered at the Goddess Palace, he chose not to surrender the Xuan Origin and accepted the sacrifice of captured disciples as necessary for his eventual revenge and awakening. 198

Conflict over Xie Jianjia

When the Prime Minister's Manor moved against the Xie family and sought Xie Jianjia, Xiao Teng resolved to protect both her and her family name. Jiang Lan identified Xie Jianjia as a means to manipulate Xiao Teng and strike at Ge Qixing. 101

Xiao Teng secretly sheltered Xie Jianjia, leading Jiang Lan to publicly accuse him at Yuxian Workshop. The accusation intensified their antagonism. 120

Qianyuan Mansion Competition

Jiang Lan used Meng Mo's group as bait to draw Xiao Teng into Qianyuan Mansion. Xiao Teng attacked Jiang Lan directly but was intercepted and severely defeated by Li Mengning. 130 131

During the defeat, his Star Body awakened prematurely. He briefly manifested a terrifying stellar domain and attempted to crush Jiang Lan with descending star projections, but this power vanished before he could capitalize on it. 131

Under Ge Qixing's guidance, Xiao Teng acquired the Seven Stars Jade Talisman and Spiritual Turtle Shell, then pursued the Seven Stars Origins. 158

Goddess Palace Crisis

Xiao Teng sought refuge at the Goddess Palace with Lou Xinyu. Lou Long insisted on protecting him despite opposition from the sect and demands from outside forces that he surrender the Xuan Origin. 198

His resemblance to Lou Long led Ji Xuanxin to expose his true parentage. The resulting scandal caused the Goddess Palace to imprison him, but Lou Long later broke him out and sacrificed her own Star Dao Law to enable his escape. 199 200 203

Betrayal and Death

At Thunderfall Ridge, Ye Shiyan betrayed Xiao Teng and Lou Xinyu, revealing her connection to the Blood Immortal Sect. She captured Xiao Teng using small-world power. 204

Xiao Teng subsequently died. His death devastated Ge Qixing and Lou Long, who blamed Xie Jianjia's betrayal and sought revenge. 205 206
