The family’s trade routes and control of important supplies give it considerable influence, but also make it a target for those seeking control of the city 20.

He cultivates the Shangguan Family’s Flower Cultivation and Leaf Nurturing Art, a high-ceiling technique created from a fragmentary art found by a family ancestor. Liuyun explains that it demands immense time and resources while offering little progress before major breakthroughs 15.

Liuyun enters the story when Wang Dingtian pursues Shangguan Xiyun and Li Yan. Arriving with his Flying Flower Chasing Leaves technique, he overwhelms Wang’s advance and drives the bandit leader away 13 14.
