Background and story role

• Akatsuki threat: News that Akatsuki has captured Yugito enrages A. He recognizes that the group is collecting Tailed Beasts and immediately calls for Killer B, his younger brother and the Eight-Tails’ jinchūriki 389 462.
• Five Kage Summit: A arrives at the Land of Iron demanding to see Mifune. At the summit, he argues that the Kage must prevent Akatsuki from using the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, particularly to protect B 459 462. He initially doubts Naruto’s strength, but gains respect for him after hearing B’s assessment 461 463.
• Battle in Amegakure: A fights alongside B and Kumogakure shinobi against Uchiha Shin and the reanimated Seven Ninja Swordsmen. When Shin escalates his attack, A pours Lightning Release chakra into B’s Eight-Tails transformation, intensifying its Tailed Beast Bomb 494 495 496 497 498.
• Confrontation with Madara: A charges Madara ahead of the other Kage. He later destroys a Wood Clone with Raging Thunder Axe, but recognizes that the clones are too strong to underestimate 549 550.

Personality

A is quick to anger, especially when Kumogakure or B is threatened. He lashes out at the news of Yugito’s capture, threatens officials over delays at the Land of Iron, and orders B to stop rapping while they face a possible Akatsuki attack 389 459 494. He can revise his judgment, however: after initially dismissing Naruto, he takes B’s estimate of Naruto’s strength seriously 461 463.

Abilities and skills

Lightning Release Chakra Mode

A covers his body in lightning chakra, enhancing his defense, speed, physical activation, and nerve conduction. His mastery lets him move fast enough to rival Minato Namikaze’s speed and evade Amaterasu 478.

• Uses Lightning Body Flicker for rapid movement 478.
• Combines Lightning Release Armor with ninjutsu and physical combat in a style called nintaijutsu 478.
• Can concentrate his Lightning Release chakra to a density that turns his body into golden lightning 497 498.
