Demon Suppression Division Commander

Xiao Qiaofeng was one of the Qingyang County Demon Suppression Division’s greatest talents, reaching the Body Refinement Ninth Layer after entering cultivation in two and a half days. Alongside Jinyang Prefecture’s Left Thousand Households Officer, he was regarded as one of only two such exceptional figures to emerge from the division in nearly fifty years. 1

He became Commander of the Qingyang County division but largely withdrew from administrative affairs to focus on cultivation. He personally investigated Ye Tianhe’s disappearance only after pressure from within the division, as Ye Tianhe had been a highly valued young talent. 6

Xiao Qiaofeng and Ye Tianhe were sworn-brother-like friends. He had known Ye Xiaofan since childhood and had even held him as a child. Ye Tianhe’s death was connected to Xiao Qiaofeng’s actions: Xiao had assigned him to a demon-suppression mission, which Sun Wude exploited to have Ye Tianhe killed. 26 34

Battle at the Blood Copper Mine

Xiao Qiaofeng entered the battle at the Blood Copper Mine when Bai Tianhei was near defeat. He killed a humanoid demon with a saber strike, split a charging black tiger demon in half with a palm-saber technique, and pursued and beheaded the fleeing Golden Tiger. 25

Golden Tiger feared him intensely because Xiao Qiaofeng had previously killed all nine of the demon prince’s elder brothers. Rather than merely remaining at the division to cultivate, Xiao Qiaofeng had secretly hunted high-level demons from the Mountain Lord’s forces. 25

Protector of Ye Xiaofan

After observing Ye Xiaofan’s performance at the mine, Xiao Qiaofeng took an interest in him and addressed him as a nephew. He disclosed that Ye Xiaofan had been targeted by the Evil entity controlling Qingyang County, offered cultivation resources, and gave him unrestricted access to the Demon Suppression Division’s Technique Pavilion. 26 27

When the County Magistrate attempted to keep Ye Xiaofan within the division, Xiao Qiaofeng covertly warned him that the magistrate was the Evil hidden in Qingyang County. He devised an escape route through the northern Thorn Crocodile Turtle territory, estimating Ye Xiaofan’s chance of success at forty percent. 33

Xiao Qiaofeng arranged disguises and a decoy to conceal Ye Xiaofan’s departure. He personally disguised Ye Xiaofan as scout Sun Chenguang and entrusted him with a letter for Commander Zuo in Jinyang Prefecture City. 34

Capture and Death

While Ye Xiaofan fled Qingyang County, Xiao Qiaofeng was intercepted by the Mountain Lord. He used Blood Burning to escape the immediate threat, knowingly sacrificing his cultivation prospects in the process. 38

He was eventually captured by the County Magistrate, who imprisoned and forcibly transformed him into a demonic creature. Xiao Qiaofeng refused to submit voluntarily despite the magistrate’s promises of longevity and greater power. 46 48

During the later assault on the demon lair beneath the Qingyang County office, Ye Xiaofan recognized Xiao Qiaofeng beneath his dark green scales. His mind was too chaotic to be restored, and Ye Xiaofan ultimately joined Liu Qingyun and other guards in killing him. Before dying, Xiao Qiaofeng briefly regained awareness and revealed information concerning the Sun Family’s betrayal and Sun Wutao’s involvement. 50

Xiao Qiaofeng was a broad, sturdy middle-aged man with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and long hair that flew wildly when he fought. His imposing physique contrasted with his skilled use of disguise. 25 34

He carried guilt over Ye Tianhe’s death and attempted to make amends by protecting Ye Xiaofan. His plans involved deception, decoys, and sacrifice, including risking loyal subordinates to create an escape opportunity for Ye Xiaofan. 26 33 34

Despite his pragmatism, he refused to abandon his principles after capture. He chose resistance over becoming the County Magistrate’s servant, even when facing forced demonic transformation. 46 48
