Background / History

Zhu Zhuqing’s future is bound to Star Luo’s imperial succession struggle through her family, Martial Soul, and engagement to Dai Mubai. She follows him to Heaven Dou seeking a chance to change their fate, but finds him absorbed in drinking, women, and disputes rather than the cultivation their survival requires 40 46 65.

Her elder sister, Zhu Zhuyun, pursues her during her escape from Star Luo. The sisters had shared affection before Zhu Zhuqing turned six, but their family’s competitive arrangements turn them into rivals. Zhu Zhuyun is seven years older and later questions whether the other pursuers were truly trying to kill Zhu Zhuqing or merely driving her toward Heaven Dou 83 85.
