Severely damaged 393 396 The ninth heavenly tribulation leaves the flagstaff pitted, tears the banner, dims its divine script, and damages its internal structure.
Partially restored 397 Ordinary ores repair roughly one-fifth of its body; it can exert at least one-third of its strength, though internal space remains at 60% of its original capacity.
Restored and reinforced 412 Repairs reach 80% before Chen Mo inscribes Destruction Law and Lightning Law into its body; the refinement is described as completing its restoration.
Complete High-rank Divine Artifact 462 465 More than one hundred tons of rare ores are refined into essence to restore its remaining core damage.
Perfect Transformation 638 Chen Mo's status identifies the Human Emperor Flag as a High-rank Divine Artifact in “Perfect Transformation.”

History

Discovery and Forging

Chen Mo found the banner cloth in a treasury and recognized it as part of a soul-controlling weapon called the “Myriad Soul Banner.” He deliberately renamed the intended artifact the Human Emperor Flag, intending to change its inscription during refinement. 363

He forged its spear-like flagpole and black-gold banner from hundreds of melted materials, with god-and-demon bones and the original banner cloth proving especially difficult to refine. After engraving divine script with a trace of Divine Power, he used his blood to make it his Natal Divine Artifact. He then fed it sealed fierce-beast souls, Emperor Grade souls, and remnants of gods and demons to establish its merit. 368

Tribulation and First Use

The artifact immediately drew a lightning tribulation. Although it blocked much of the lightning, its bond with Chen Mo transmitted soul damage to him; the artifact itself also required repeated repairs during the ordeal. 370

After the tribulation, Chen Mo used the Flag to capture Zhao Dezhu, other Martial Venerables, and ten Martial Saints. Their souls were bound within the Flag and subjected to lightning-flame torment, while Chen Mo used the confined souls for Soul Searching. 374 375

Chen Mo later used it to remove foreign infiltrators and Abyss Church collaborators across Great Xia Nation. The scale of the operation eventually left tens of millions of irredeemable criminals imprisoned within the Flag. 376 391

Birth of Little Emperor

Seeking to upgrade the artifact, Chen Mo initially asked vengeful spirits to become its Artifact Spirit. Although they agreed, he reconsidered and delayed the decision out of concern that they would lose any chance at reincarnation. 391

The Flag instead developed consciousness on its own after Chen Mo re-engraved its divine script and formations. Chen Mo nourished that consciousness with one percent of his own soul, elevating it into a true Artifact Spirit and advancing the Flag to High-rank Divine Artifact status. The new spirit chose the name Little Emperor. 392

Repair, Transformation, and Later Use

A subsequent heavenly tribulation nearly destroyed the Flag. Chen Mo progressively restored it with ordinary ores, weapon fragments, fierce-beast bones, and eventually rare ores gathered in the Country of Japan. 396 397 412 462

During the conflict with the Eight-Headed Serpent, Chen Mo and Little Emperor jointly used the Flag to attack and draw out the enemy's soul. The Flag also collected souls on a massive scale and isolated captured Divine Envoys from the Eight-Headed Serpent's detection. 449 450 451

Once fully repaired, Little Emperor gained a humanoid form: a small girl who can fight alongside Chen Mo and create phantom-clone flags. 466

Appearance

In its artifact form, the Human Emperor Flag is a black banner mounted on a spear-like pole. It can shrink to palm or thumb size, expand for combat, and merge into Chen Mo's body. 368 374

  • A black cloth banner with gold thread woven around its edges. 368
  • Three golden seal-script characters reading “Human Emperor Flag” at its center. 368
  • A black-and-gold aura: black mist may resemble ferocious ghosts, while gold light resembles restraining chains. 412 533
  • Complex divine script and formations cover its body after its advancement to High-rank Divine Artifact. 392
  • Its Artifact Spirit initially manifested eyes and a mouth directly on the banner. 392
  • In human form, Little Emperor appears as a three- or four-year-old girl with a rosy round face, large bright eyes, bun hairstyle, pink ancient clothing, and a miniature Human Emperor Flag worn in her hair. 466

Personality

Little Emperor is intensely loyal and grateful toward Chen Mo, whom she initially addresses as “Master” and later calls “Brother” in her humanoid form. Her devotion comes from being born from the Flag and nurtured with part of Chen Mo's soul. 392 466

She has the temperament and emotional maturity of a child: eager for praise, excited by repairs and rare ores, curious about the outside world, and prone to anxious enthusiasm. She is nevertheless obedient when Chen Mo gives instructions, including when he warns her not to be deceived by enemies. 451 462 467

Abilities & Skills

Soul Siphon

The Flag's principal function is forcibly extracting, suppressing, and collecting souls.

  • Its black-and-gold radiance can draw souls from targets directly into its internal space. 374 599
  • Removing a fierce beast's soul kills the target immediately; the body may continue moving briefly from inertia. 573
  • With Chen Mo's power supporting it, no one below Martial Venerable can resist its soul-summoning ability. 438
  • Chen Mo and Little Emperor can jointly use it to attack the soul of an opponent comparable to a Martial God. 450 451
  • Acting independently, Little Emperor states that it can only soul-snatch Martial Kings and below, or fierce beasts below King Grade. 392

Soul Imprisonment and Punishment

Souls caught by the Flag can be held, interrogated, and tortured within its internal space.

  • Captives are bound by soul chains that resisted the efforts of multiple Martial Venerables to escape. 374
  • Lightning-flame can burn souls while being controlled precisely enough to keep victims alive. 374
  • The Flag can amplify a captive soul's pain. 392
  • Its confined souls can be Soul Searched simultaneously; Chen Mo used this to rapidly filter and organize information from fifteen captives. 375
  • Its containment isolates captured Divine Envoys from external tracking. 449

Time Manipulation

Because Chen Mo inscribed Space-Time Law into its body, Little Emperor can alter the flow of time inside the Flag.

  • Slow time by up to 100 times. 392
  • Accelerate time by up to 1,000 times. 392
  • Combine accelerated refinement with Space-Time Law suppression to weaken Divine Envoy souls that initially resisted its chains. 673

Internal Space and Soul Refinement

The Flag contains an internal soul-holding space that grows with its refinement.

  • Its internal space expanded from 10 kilometers to 100 kilometers after Little Emperor's birth. 393
  • Tribulation damage later reduced the usable space to 60% until further repairs could be made. 397
  • Little Emperor can refine stored souls directly into pure soul power for Chen Mo to absorb. 460
  • Rare ores can be absorbed to restore and strengthen the Flag's main body. 453 462

Defense and Artifact Body

The Human Emperor Flag can function as both weapon and protective artifact.

  • It can form a pale-yellow spherical barrier around Chen Mo, though powerful tribulation lightning can break it. 371
  • It can change size, be controlled by Chen Mo's will, and merge into his body because it is soul-bound to him. 368 374
  • Lightning tribulations damage both the Flag and Chen Mo's soul through their Natal Artifact bond. 370

Transformation and Clone Creation

Little Emperor can manifest independently from the Flag's standard form.

  • She can transform into a little girl without losing access to the Flag's combat power. 466
  • Her humanoid form can revert into the complete black-and-gold Flag. 467
  • She can create phantom clones; producing additional clones requires sufficient ore. 466 467
  • A clone flag can be a High-rank Divine Artifact but lacks an Artifact Spirit; later derivatives include the Low-rank Divine Artifact Human Emperor Blade. 466 638

Limitations

  • The Flag's full power demands immense energy; even Chen Mo cannot always unleash all of a High-rank Divine Artifact's abilities. 392 462
  • Heavenly tribulations can heavily damage its body and transmit soul damage to Chen Mo. 370 393 396
  • Repairing structural damage requires large quantities of suitable ores, with Space Stones specifically needed to restore lost internal capacity. 397
  • Soul extraction can be resisted by targets protected by powerful Divine Power, requiring additional suppression and refinement. 673

Relationships

  • Chen Mo — Creator, master, and soul-bound wielder. He forged the Flag, nourished its consciousness with part of his soul, and later treats Little Emperor as a younger sister and battle companion. 368 392 466
  • Situ Kong and Li KaishanChen Mo's teachers, who experienced the Flag's soul-control effect firsthand and were frightened by its aura and power. 375 376
  • Vengeful spirits — Allies in punishing imprisoned criminals. They offered to become the Flag's Artifact Spirit, but Chen Mo postponed accepting their sacrifice. 391
  • Chen Wan'er — Accepts Little Emperor as her sister; the two quickly become playmates. 469
  • Chen Mo's clones — Several clones wield Human Emperor Flag derivatives in battle, using Soul Siphon to kill and interrogate enemies. 533 545 599

Trivia

  • The Flag's source banner cloth originally bore the name “Myriad Soul Banner,” but Chen Mo intentionally renamed it the Human Emperor Flag. 363
  • Its black-and-gold power contains both evil and righteous aspects, described as balanced yin and yang under Chen Mo's control. 376
  • Little Emperor's first manifested facial features were eyes and a mouth on the banner itself. 392
