Background / History

Black Dragon City was founded after the Oma and Kolman factions consolidated their territory. Its first high-level meeting established a “City of Freedom” intended to reconcile the factions and provide equal rights for residents. Rein Hermes was elected City Lord, though the position was designed to be ceremonial and diplomatic rather than hereditary; practical administration was left to Ymir and the council. 194

The city was built in the Karatva Basin against the Alkolon Mountain Range, where it had access to stone, high-combustion coal, magical-beast resources, and later high-value mineral deposits. Its early settlement covered only a few blocks, but fortified walls, cannons, and the gradual withdrawal of nearby Earth Dragon tribes allowed it to gain a foothold in the dangerous basin. 198 204 300

Its mechanical development was accelerated by wreckage from a flying mechanical city, recovered Goblin facilities, Godblood Ore, and Angelas Black Iron. These resources supported the construction of advanced workshops, mecha, airship systems, and eventually a mechanical airship. 209 213 296 299
