Scientists merely said that the reason was that spacetime had changed, without offering any specific explanation. However, their research into it never stopped.
In the time that followed, scientists threw all kinds of test subjects into the black hole, such as Strong Material and various antimatter rays, then observed them through the probes they had launched earlier.
And so, experiment after experiment was carried out, and Human Civilization gradually found some useful clues within the enormous mass of data.
For instance, theories concerning the peculiarities of spacetime were brought up once more.
Some scientists stated that the reversal of centrifugal force within the Photon Sphere occurred because the Time Coordinate and Space Coordinate inside the black hole had switched places. In other words, R in the Schwarzschild Radius had become the time axis, while the original Time Coordinate, T, had become the spatial axis.
That explanation seemed plausible. It explained why matter rapidly fell toward the singularity after crossing the One-way Membrane—the point where R equaled 0—as the result of the Space Coordinate and Time Coordinate having switched places inside the One-way Membrane.
But it only seemed plausible. In this theory, "inside the black hole" originally referred to the region from the Event Horizon to the singularity. That was the region where time and spatial coordinates were exchanged, not the Photon Sphere.
In response to this challenge, the scientist who proposed the idea explained that once matter entered the Innermost Stable Circular Orbit, its only final fate was to fall into the black hole. Likewise, photons inside the surface of the Photon Sphere could not escape and would ultimately be swallowed by the black hole in one direction. What people saw of the Photon Sphere was merely the escaping photons at its critical boundary.
There was now a theory in
