Pewter City (Please Bookmark, Please Vote)

On a straight dirt road, it looked from afar like a yellowish-brown ribbon, with nothing on it.

But upon closer inspection, a black-haired boy in a teal tracksuit was steadily making his way forward.

This boy was Eichi, who was traveling. At the moment, he was on his way to Pewter City.

He had somewhat underestimated the size of Viridian Forest. It was simply too enormous.

He had originally thought he could leave Viridian Forest in five days at most.

Instead, a full seven days had passed. Today was the seventh day.

Ever since he had defeated three Trainers at the Pokémon Center last time,

Eichi had continued onward. At another Pokémon Center, he had battled other Trainers with his Pokémon.

Eichi had always used Scyther. He had won and lost, though he won most of the time. He had only lost once, and that opponent had been a Charmeleon.

That Charmeleon already possessed veteran-level strength.

Scyther had fought that Charmeleon with great difficulty.

But the gap in Energy Level had been too great, and it had ultimately lost.

Afterward, Beedrill had requested to battle. Another fierce battle followed, and fortunately, Beedrill had won.

Beedrill had utterly dominated that Charmeleon. Eichi felt that the Charmeleon was beginning to question its entire life.

He continued onward, and finally, traces of a city appeared ahead.

As he moved closer, it gradually revealed itself in full. It was a weighty city—Pewter City. He had finally arrived in Pewter City.

As he walked, he made plans: first, he would rest properly for a day, then go on a major shopping trip.

From afar, the entire style of Pewter City was rock. Many buildings looked like stone, and rocks could be seen everywhere.

The whole city seemed like one enormous boulder split apart into countless smaller stones.

People had used those shattered stones to construct building after building.

To reach Pewter City, he had to go down a slope. Eichi was currently on a mountain in Viridian Forest.

Eichi was covered in dust and looked somewhat dirty.

At a signpost at the city entrance, Eichi saw a map of Pewter City.

He memorized the locations of the Gym and the Pokémon Center before entering the city.

There were fairly few people on Pewter City's streets, and he quickly found the Pewter City Pokémon Center.

After Eichi entered, there were not many people inside either, and it was soon his turn.

Eichi handed Beedrill's and Scyther's Poké Balls to Nurse Joy and also booked a private room.

He then went upstairs to his room, took a shower, went downstairs to retrieve his two Pokémon, and headed to the restaurant for a meal.

The two Pokémon enjoyed the food together with Eichi.

After eating, Eichi returned to his room to rest and took an afternoon nap.

That afternoon, he went out again, refreshed and full of energy, to do some shopping.

The atmosphere throughout Pewter City was heavy and solemn, with all kinds of rocks everywhere.

After asking someone where the Department Store was, Eichi headed there. He was running low on Pokémon food.

Scyther and Beedrill's appetites had grown larger.

Moreover, Eichi often fed wild Pokémon.

As a result, his Pokémon food was being used up especially quickly.

When Eichi arrived at the Department Store, it was still quite lively inside. This Department Store was not called Lianfang.

After asking where he could buy Pokémon food, he stocked up thoroughly.

He then went to another Department Store to buy ingredients for his own everyday meals.

After buying everything he needed, Eichi followed the map on the signpost at the entrance and found Nibi Gym.

After walking for a while and turning a corner, he continued onward. At this point, he could already see Nibi Gym.

Standing before the entrance to Nibi Gym, Eichi saw that the entire Gym resembled an enormous white boulder.

Eichi suspected that Nibi Gym had been built inside a rock.

By the time Eichi arrived, three other people were already there.

One person knocked on the door, and a young man in a work uniform opened it.

He looked over the four people, including Eichi, and asked, "Are you all here to challenge the Gym?"

All four nodded. The young man said, "Sorry, but there are quite a lot of people challenging our Gym today. You can make an appointment first."

"You can come challenge it tomorrow. In that case, please follow me."

The four of them followed him. The interior was dimly lit, but they could still see clearly.

As they passed through a corridor, they could hear the sounds of Pokémon battles.

The place felt as though it had been built within rock. They followed the young man into a room, where he had everyone fill out a form.

After they filled out the forms, the young man said, "You can all challenge the Gym tomorrow."

"Go back and adjust your condition today. Fight well tomorrow."

"Alright, thank you."

Everyone thanked him before going back to prepare. Eichi went back as well.

With nothing to do that afternoon, Eichi planned to train Beedrill and Scyther and adjust their condition.

It was said that every city had Training Rooms set up for Trainers to train their Pokémon.

Of course, they were expensive. The best rooms cost 1,000 an hour.

Even the cheapest cost 300 an hour. After Eichi found the place, he saw that it was a massive rock-shaped building, with a poster above it showing an enormous Nidoking and a Trainer.

The training facility was even larger than Tokiwa Academy's, twice its size.

Eichi generously rented the most expensive Training Room for three hours.

Holding the key, he opened the Training Room he had rented.

Inside, it was very spacious, with many tools to assist with training.

Eichi looked them over, but there was no need to use them, nor would they be useful.

He released Beedrill and Scyther and said to them, "Tomorrow, we're going to challenge the Gym."

"The Gym Leader's Pokémon are all very strong. We cannot let our guard down. We need to give it one hundred percent."

Beedrill and Scyther nodded. Beedrill was extremely excited. It had not encountered an opponent it could properly battle in a long time, and its Twin Needles had long been aching for action.

Seeing the excited flames in Beedrill's eyes, Scyther also began to grow excited, though it was somewhat uneasy as well.

They then began training. Eichi directly raised Beedrill's triple gravity to quadruple gravity, then had it use Agility around the Training Room.

Scyther was not yet at the stage where it could use a Weight Training Device. It was still growing, and using one would be highly detrimental to its development.

Eichi took out a humanoid target and set it up, then had Scyther use Vacuum Wave.

Today was only meant to adjust their physical condition, so it was not suitable to train too intensely.

After training ended, Eichi returned to the Pokémon Center with his two Pokémon.

During the past few days in Viridian Forest, he had not given his two Pokémon a proper massage.

For tomorrow's challenge, they needed to relax properly tonight.
