Early that morning, Eichi felt something soft beside him through the haze of sleep.

When he opened his eyes, he saw that it was Joltik. He had no idea why it had crawled onto his bed last night.

He reached to the side and felt another soft body.

Before Joltik had arrived, Larvesta would crawl out of its little nest and onto Eichi's bed every night.

He left Larvesta, Joltik, Flygon, and Heracross in the dormitory to look after the two little ones.

Newly born Pokémon were not suited to staying inside Poké Balls for extended periods, as it was bad for their development.

As usual, Eichi entered the classroom.
