Yagami Chiyue concealed his growing powers while building bonds with Kushina, Minato, and Uchiha Mikoto, then teamed with Mikoto for missions and resisted the village’s effort to direct his future. The arc ended as Konoha and Amegakure moved toward war, with other great villages watching the border tensions.

• Yagami Chiyue met Kushina Uzumaki at the academy and watched her fight classmates who mocked her, while he kept his own White Nine-Tails and Sharingan hidden.
• Tsunade defended Kushina, joined the children on a riverside picnic, and later helped secure a Shadow Clone Technique scroll for Chiyue and Minato.
• Chiyue and Uchiha Mikoto arranged to graduate together, while Minato and Kushina also skipped grades to remain with them at the academy.
• After graduating, Chiyue and Mikoto refused to be separated into village-assigned teams and formed their own partnership, despite the Third Hokage’s objections.
• Chiyue and Mikoto completed missions together, captured and sold a giant orange tiger, and escorted a client through a samurai ambush in which Mikoto awakened her Sharingan.
• Jiraiya and Minato monitored Amegakure as its military strength grew, while the Third Hokage chose to deploy Konoha troops to the border rather than declare war.
• Chiyue concluded that the Second Shinobi War was approaching as Hanzō massed Amegakure forces and Sunagakure and Iwagakure took notice.

Chiyue’s squad uncovered Sunagakure’s invasion and helped Konoha mobilize against it. As the war spread, Mikoto joined the Police Force while Chiyue and Minato faced possible deployment, and Tsunade returned to Konoha with wounded soldiers.

• Chiyue joined Minato and Uchiha Mikoto for the Chunin Exams, passed, and awakened his Three-tomoe Sharingan.
• After Sunagakure invaded the Land of Fire, Chiyue’s squad escaped the attack with their employers and reported that the Third Kazekage had led the assault.
• Chiyue proved his Genjutsu to the Third Hokage’s Jonin by trapping Shimura Shūitsu in Sakura Falling, then refused Hatake Sakumo’s request to join the battlefield.
• Uchiha Fugaku failed to bring Chiyue back to the Uchiha Clan, while Kushina and Minato visited Chiyue at home.
• Tsunade learned that Chiyue had awakened the Three-tomoe Sharingan and that the Third Hokage wanted her to take him to the battlefield.
• Uchiha Mikoto accepted a Police Force position and agreed to stay with Kushina while Chiyue and Minato might be deployed.
• Tsunade returned to Konoha with wounded soldiers and reported that they had been sent to the hospital.

Tsunade brought Chiyue, Minato, and Nawaki to the Land of Rain battlefield, where Chiyue fought Root, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure forces while rumors about the Third Kazekage spread. The stretch ended with Chiyue killing the Amegakure Jonin Shang Qianluo and the rescued Konoha ninja pursuing the fleeing enemy.

• Tsunade returned to Konoha, warned Chiyue about Danzo, and took Chiyue and Minato to the Land of Rain battlefield.
• Chiyue and Minato joined Nawaki at camp, where Tsunade arranged a separate kitchen and Danzo ordered Root to punish Chiyue for learning about the Nine-Tails.
• Chiyue killed two Root ninjas sent against him, and White destroyed their bodies before Tsunade led Chiyue, Minato, and Nawaki away from camp.
• Chiyue’s squad defended an outpost from Sunagakure ninja, and the Third Kazekage publicized claims about Chiyue’s strength after their earlier encounter.
• Chiyue confirmed that he had trapped the Third Kazekage in Genjutsu, then invented an embarrassing dance story that Jiraiya helped spread as a rumor.
• The rumor spread among the villages and worsened the Third Kazekage’s reputation as Sunagakure’s attacks on Konoha increased.
• Chiyue’s squad ambushed hidden Iwagakure ninja, with Nawaki collapsing the ground and Chiyue killing the survivors who escaped.
• Chiyue caught Shang Qianluo in Genjutsu and killed him, after which the surviving Amegakure ninja fled and the rescued Konoha ninja pursued them.

Chiyue and his squad sabotaged Amegakure’s supplies, encountered Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, and helped expose the looming battle between Konoha and Amegakure. Chiyue brought Uzumaki Narumi to Konoha, while Tsunade’s attempt to secure peace talks failed and the war continued.

• Chiyue, Minato, and Nawaki destroyed Amegakure’s supply convoy, prompting Hanzō to investigate and order an attack on Konoha’s position.
• Chiyue’s squad met Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, gave them food and basic training, and then discovered Amegakure’s forces were closing in.
• Chiyue defeated Manda with Little White and made Manda his summon, enabling it to warn Orochimaru that Amegakure was preparing to surround Konoha.
• While escorting an envoy to Kusagakure, Chiyue’s squad found the starving Uzumaki Narumi, and Chiyue promised to take her to Konoha.
• Chiyue told Minato and Nawaki that Konoha’s leaders had abandoned the Uzumaki Clan for its assets and made Kushina a jinchuriki for the village’s benefit.
• Orochimaru and Tsunade used Manda to break Konoha’s wounded forces out of Amegakure’s encirclement, while Hanzō pressured Chiyo for supplies and threatened to make peace with Konoha.
• Tsunade took Narumi to Konoha, where Kushina welcomed her as family, while Danzo ordered Kusagakure’s hidden Uzumaki members captured or killed if they could not be brought to Konoha.
• Tsunade failed to persuade the Third Hokage to begin peace talks, then asked him to obtain training scrolls for Minato, and Chiyue later carried her home drunk as Kushina and Mikoto visited.
