Background / History

The Sorcerer Race is led by the Twelve Ancestral Witches from the Ancestral Witch Hall at the center of the Primordial Land. They consider Pangu their Father God and regard their bloodline as superior to races formed from beasts gaining sentience. Their identity is tied to standing upright between heaven and earth; they revere neither heaven nor earth, only Pangu. 5 33 105

Their innate deficiency is a flawed Primordial Spirit. This prevents them from properly cultivating the world's vital energy, condensing divine power, or relying on treasures as other great powers do. Instead, they specialize in tempering overwhelmingly powerful physical bodies. 5 46

The race has maintained a long-standing, violent rivalry with the Demon Race. The Sorcerer Race controls the land while the Demon Race holds the Heavenly Court, and their leaders repeatedly bring both sides to the brink of war. 62 103 175

Early Hongmeng Purple Gold List charts placed the Sorcerer Race at a disadvantage because of its poor compatibility with treasures and spiritual roots. Fearing that the Demon Race would compound these rewards, the Ancestral Witches ultimately copied the Demon Race's mount scheme; both races were exposed on the Cheating List. 105 108

Houtu's incarnation as the Six Paths of Reincarnation greatly reduced the race's karmic burden and gave it protection, but her ascension as an Earth Dao Sage also removed her from the Twelve Ancestral Witches.
