Background / History

Great God Pangu created the Primordial World by opening heaven and earth. Its ordered energies and the attraction of the Three Thousand Laws made it far easier to comprehend laws than in the Chaotic World, drawing numerous Chaos Gods, Demons, and beasts to invade it. Pangu died after fighting the invaders and entrusted its protection to Su Changkong. 460 648

After Pangu's death, Changkong Daoren secretly established layered defenses around the realm. Meanwhile, Dao Ancestor Hongjun—one of the Chaos beings who entered the world—eventually merged with the Heavenly Dao and came to be regarded as its supreme ruler. 97 542 788

The world nearly collapsed when a massive hole opened in the Heavenly Palace, causing the sky to tilt and the earth to sink. Nuwa's repair using the Seven-Colored Divine Stone proved insufficient against the incoming chaotic energy, but the emerging Hongmeng Purple Gold List sealed the spreading fissures and restored the heavens. 2

The List's arrival changed the world's condition profoundly: its purple-gold qi removed the aura of decay, multiplied spiritual energy, filled heaven and earth with varied energies, and was said to complete the previously incomplete Primordial Dao. It also suppressed Hongjun and stripped him of control over the Heavenly Dao. 4

At the same time, internal conflict threatens the realm. The Human Clan is aligned with forces connected to Heaven's Mystery Pavilion, while the Witch and Demon Clans have moved toward the Purple Cloud Palace.
