Hearing the noise, Xuemiyya abruptly looked up. When she saw Velin, she rolled her eyes and said irritably, "There's a perfectly good door. Why did you come through the window?"
"The door would take too long. The window was just right."
Velin closed the window behind him, then flung himself onto the bed and nestled into Xuemiyya's arms.
Seeing this, Xuemiyya closed the book in her hands, cradled Velin's head, and shifted farther into the bed.
"I only have one last step left in the Trial of Destiny."
At his words, a gentle smile appeared on Xuemiyya's face. "Thank you for all your hard work," she said softly.
"Right now, I just want to relax properly, then finish the last step and get the ten-thousand-meter-class Floating Battleship airborne." Velin closed his eyes, enjoying the soft touch as he told her his plans for the near future.
"Would you like me to go for a stroll around Star Prayer City with you tomorrow?" Xuemiyya asked softly.
"Of course."
"Going alone wouldn't be much fun. With you there, you can help carry some of the food when I run out of hands."
